Good info in this thread. Today I ran a LVJ Motorsports harness I got from Nick at Apollo Optics to my S1s. Nice connector, well made. It has Weathertech connectors but I was able to run them through the frame rail. I didn’t want to cut up the harness. Now I have full use with upfitter switch...
I have really liked my Ridge Grapplers through about 10k miles on my 2018 802a. Been through a full year and recently had snow and ice storms - they performed very well. Ride is great and they are quiet.
K02s had maybe 7k miles left when I replaced them, but the noise was really bad. Sounded...
Agreed - I went through same process, or at least my truck has. Original owner fought rev1 cam phasers for a long while and really never got resolved. I bought my truck a year ago, had phasers replaced in March with rev2 of the part and the truck is solid. I know this repair probably seems scary...
This seems very common. Mine did it months ago for a few weeks but seems to have stopped now. My dealer looked it over but swore they couldn’t replicate (I trust them). They did change my oil and it’s probably a coincidence but it subsequently stopped.
Noticed yours starts the noise after...
I just tested the Forscan change and I am happy to say it DID work:
BCM 726-37-02 xxxx x0xx xxxx
Changing the “5” to a “0” disabled ability to open the tailgate from the key fob.
The tailgate still opens fine at the back handle and the remote release I added to my upfitter switch still...
Worst nightmare is I hit the garage door opener and the tailgate pops open as the garage door is moving.
I did this on an ML320 I had and it left a nice 8” gouge on the back hatch. Not a scratch, but a deep down to the metal scar.
Parking at Costco (or anywhere public) is scary anyway. Saw this there last weekend, 30 degrees out so this guy is one tough SOB is my guess. Not even commenting on his lack of humility.
I was thinking “how did he ever pass inspection?” and my wife says “where does he put his stuff from Costco?”.
Saw this link on another forum to disable with Forscan. I have not tried it yet but will ASAP:
BCM 726-37-02 xxxx x0xx xxxx

Yeah, agree it could be a belt slipping. Weird it does it after the initial fast idle drops - I was hoping someone might know if an actuator triggers or something opens or closed at that point after startup.
Installed Baja Designs Fog Pocket Kit and S2 Reverse Light Kit this morning. My Christmas gift from the family. Finished just in time for start of Chief’s game. Perfect day so far.
Thanks Nick at Apollo Optics for taking great care of me (as usual)!!!
This is a really odd thread... been following this forum for a year, read it daily and I can without hesitation say that we are all lucky FordTechOne is also here and providing solid, “insider” info to us everyday truck owners.
Been through two rounds of cam phasers myself and it certainly...
Back to the OP, any chance the truck sat around on the lot for while - maybe a couple weeks or more? When I first got my used 2018, it had been on the lot, not driven much and I felt that for the first few weeks I had it I had similar issues but eventually after a few tanks of fresh gas and...
2018 802a, 45k miles. Noticed a chirp sound on cold weather (30 degree) start:
1. Starts fine, purrs like a kitten
2. Warm up about 30 seconds
3. Fast idle drops, then 4 short chirps
4. Consistently does this but only noticed it when it’s colder outside
The video below was edited to...
I am running Cobb ECM/TCM stage 1 on 93 octane and dropped 1.1 mile per gallon average. Granted, I think I drive more aggressively now - it’s simply more fun to drive. I am currently averaging 15.1, mostly city.
Cobb TCM is really good, worth every cent. I would give up the ECM mod before the...
I would be cautious of this site. A very similar site with prices at $63.99 for everything had a high end wheel barrel I was watching. It had a CO address, Secretary of State did NOT show a business and google address was a trailer park in the middle of nowhere.
Holiday scam.
The big decision at the time was between the Prelude Si and the Prelude Si 4WS (4 wheel steering AND rear spoiler). It was $1,800 more for 4WS and spoiler and I passed. Regretted it as I was driving off the lot.
Lesson I learned... get “the one you want”. Don’t live with regrets.
And think...
Well, guess I meant first new car. First used car ever was a 65 Corvair and it was around $500 as I recall. We could drop that engine practically rebuild it in a weekend. Thing plowed through snow but heated off the manifold so I always smelled like exhaust.
It’s the average car prices now that blow me away. I remember going with my dad to buy a ‘76 Ford Granada for $5k. My first car was an 1989 Prelude for $18k. Dad about disowned me for buying foreign. Forever now I have been locked in at about $20k as what should be new car pricing. In reality...
