Thanks, the guy down the street from me who has a TRX always gives me a wave as he drives past. Most people get its a lighthearted joke because of the T-rex fossil on the plate.
Tinted Third Brake Light:
In my quest to remove any obscure chrome from the Raptor I've wanted to tackle the third brake light for a while. As i mentioned earlier my plan was always to go with the GJ option. I just could never make it happen and then looked into a suitable alternative. In the...
Rear Lighting:
For the longest time I have been dead set on the GJ Motorsports Third Brake Light. To this day i still believe its the best option out there and I love the look. The price and install have always made me shy away and look for alternatives though. When the opportunity came up, I...
I ran into the same issue with the fuse cover not fitting. The solution i used was to take a Dremel and shaving off a small piece of the cover so it would fit snug and over the wire. Funny enough, it was the biggest pain of the entire install. For whatever reason i could not get the cover back...
I wish i knew more to say if it actually makes a difference or not. Just thinking about how i have mine set up to replicate the proper functions.
You are correct, that fuse tap is used for the DRL/Start Up sequence.
Im on 14 as well and have not run into the flashing you're describing. Are you running a 15A below the 10A fuse on your micro tap? I followed the @4x4TruckLEDs.com pic they posted of their set up and it was the ONLY place i saw that step added. I couldn't get the lights to work properly until i...
Just a question based off what you had said earlier... what fuse did you end up tapping into and what fuses did you use? I tapped into 14 but i had to swap out the bottom fuse to the 15A from the stock location. I also went back before i buttoned up everything up and had pins from the morimoto...
You need to turn DRL's off from the settings on your truck. I tapped into Fuse 14 for constant power with a 15A fuse and 10A above. I haven't run into your same issues but this is what i did on my install last week and have had no problems. I leave my lights in "Auto" now and the start up...
Looks amazing! This is my dream set up. Do you have any more pictures you can share with different lighting/angles? It would be nice to see how they look normally and not just doctored up ad pictures.
Had some time to take the truck and the pup up to a local mountain range today. I haven't had much time to put the truck through its paces in the snow but today was the perfect chance. It's snowed steady for a while now and temps have averaged around -15 F. I had previously tried to climb this...
Just so folks who are looking at these pictures are aware, the DRL is not as bright as it can be during the day in these photos. Thanks to another forum member @nikhsub1 for pointing out that the DRL surround has essentially three different settings. In all of these pictures the truck is in park...
Copy, i just went and looked and that setting was off already. All pictures were taken with the truck in park, lights set to the parking light option on the dial. Maybe they appear dim due to the camera/editing after?
Just wanted to say thank you to @4x4TruckLEDs.com for the amount of info you have shared on the site. Your youtube video was the ONLY useful one i could find when it came to correctly explaining the wiring for these headlights. You saved me a ton of time i would have wasted trying to figure it...
