Covering just the front 1/3 is definitely a solid call - most bang for your buck there. If I’m doing just clear XPEL, that’s often the approach I take. Ceramic the rest and call it good.
Hah - yea, I’ve torn multiple vehicles down to bare metal — interior and exterior. It’s really not as big of a deal as you’re making it out to be. In my case, it’s been for sound deadening projects - just a hobbyist in that regard. You quickly gain a sense of how to put just enough pressure on...
Just to update on this - I've now seen a video of a '23 non-R Raptor with the carbon package, and it still has the same carbon fiber as '22 models. So the better-looking carbon fiber may just be an "R" thing
These parts are designed to be relatively easily removed and affixed. Like any mod, it boils down to installer skill and reputation. Have it performed by a reputable shop and review the work. It’s very unlikely you’ll get rattles from one of those external pieces, and even if you did, it could...
Not sure how much has to actually come off the truck to do this? But even still, it’s fairly easy to ensure you don’t have broken clips when re-assembling. I’d say there’s even opportunity to ensure a more snug fitment with each piece if you’re up for putting the extra work in. I can see cost...
Just posted this in another thread as well, but it looks like the carbon fiber pattern has been improved for the R. Curious to see if all 2023 Raptors with the CF package get the improved CF.
It looks like the carbon fiber pattern has been upgraded/improved in the ‘23 R videos I’ve seen. I’d be interested to see if that improved CF package also makes its way into all 2023 Raptors — I suspect there’s a good chance that’ll be the case.
No, the box graphics on left and right sides are single units per side. However, the tailgate will have a separate 37 graphic in the lower-right (passenger) section, as seen in the video referenced earlier. This tailgate graphic will remain on the truck even with the graphic delete.
Pure MSRP to MSRP, there's no question (imo) that the Raptor R is the better valued truck. But at this point that scenario seems more theoretical than anything --- realistically, there's a huge gap in the price and availability difference between the two trucks, which is where the decision...
What folks are saying here is that there are 5-8 prominent Ram dealerships across the country who are offering $10-$12k off MSRP on ordered TRXs. So if someone can wait 6-9 months on an order (what they'll likely be doing for a Raptor R anyways), then they'll see considerable savings over an R...
Yeah, realistically speaking, the difference is going to be at minimum $30k+ between the two (if you order a TRX at discount through one of the handful of dealers offering those deals).
Lol, yeah I’m sure Ford is lying so they can force that little sticker down our throats. They want to pinch pennies everywhere else by nickel and diming buyers to death, but they won this battle with the bean counters and are paying extra to mass produce these stickers just so they can literally...
Here's the Raptor program engineering manager, Tony Greco, discussing it at the 3G launch:
YouTube: Raptor 37 Graphics Delete - Tailgate Sticker Required
It’s an EPA requirement that the 37 Raptor be distinguished from non-37 Raptors upon factory delivery due to its different ratings. In this case, that distinguishing element is the 37 sticker on the tailgate. Of course, it can be easily removed after taking delivery.
