The lights posted are not LED. Just a replica headlight with a crappy projector and halogens bulbs. But given the price you could retrofit these and still come in under the price of a set of OEM HIDs.

Your best bet, if you don't what to spend the money for a proper setup, is to install HIDs in the existing projector. Let it be known that they are not meant for this as the aftermarket headlights with projectors will usually always use a halogen bulb...
Was following the part number awhile back and most places were showing a March delivery with a pre-order. Are you confusing these with the older ones maybe?

I would think it would hold up just fine due to the headlight lens usually having some type of UV protection.

The LEDs were disabled on this one. I do have some translucent paint I use for turn signals that may work well here. It would throw off the projected led color but I could see how it could turn out.
I may play with the lens and see what I can do. Are you referring mostly to the lens being white or the color when lit?
The lens can be painted black as well and wont be lit. Ill get you an example.
I have a brand new set of OEM halogens that I will throw in to the mix as well. Ill even use the stock bulb and some upgraded bulbs to see how they stack up with the others as well as what I have installed on my truck now.

I have been eyeing these new headlights (see below) that Spyder will be releasing next month and went ahead and put them on pre-order.
They are damn near an exact replica of the OEM HID headlight. Minus the HID and a few other details.
