Ok, here's some measurements and pictures of my stock 2020. Driver's side front of wheelwell to tire, rear of wheelwell to tire, and my slip yoke, last to first. Never realized my yoke moves that much, and I drive like an old man(cuz I am), lol. Glad to hear your feeling better. Had it myself...
I haven't pursued that problem much other than I was hoping it was tied in with my iwe problem (same component causing both problems). My brakes haven't been affected by it in any way, so I wasn't too concerned about it. If it gets worse I'll have it looked at. Cooler weather now causes me to...
Shackle looks correctly orientated. I hooked a tape measure on the outside of the front eye bolt (driver's side, no hex extention on the end) and measured to the front center pin. 28 7/8" approximately to the center of the pin. If it measures more than that, like 31" or so, the springs are in...
Yeah, hopefully they find where the dirt is getting in before installing all new lines. I was a little surprised how simple the check valve is inside. More durable looking than I expected too.
I was wrong about no dirt at the check valve. I happen to look closely at one of my old check valves today and it had dirt in it. Cut it open and it had quite a bit of dirt in it. Probably why it wasn't working properly.
Does the rear tire look like it's centered in the wheel opening? Sure looks like a center pin problem. The relationship between the axle, spacer block and spring look correct? Installing the springs backwards is easy to do.
That was my question. Did he simply pull the line off the solenoid and see some dust in there and call that a diagnosis? Wouldn't this be the first place dust would show up from releasing the vacuum to the atmosphere every time you turn the truck off in 2wd? Never heard of such a thing until I...
No dirt on the check valve side of the system. Miniscule amount of dust on iwe side at the solenoid. Truck is a pavement princess, probably seen less than 15 miles of gravel road. Lines have never had a vacuum leak. I could understand if a line had been knocked off at the wheel and pulled a...
So back to the dealership today. They were aware of what's going on with my truck and they were putting the same mechanic on it that I spoke with last time I was there. Truck was in the shop for less than an hour. Diagnosis: found dirt in the lines to the iwe's. They're ordering all new...
Talked to my dealership this morning. Had them look up the tsb to verify that the raptor was the exception. Yes, FordTechOne, you were correct. Thank you. I have another appointment this Friday to hopefully get it diagnosed. In defense of the mechanic I talked with, he never saw my truck as it...
So I had my appointment at the dealership today. I asked if I could talk with the mechanic that would be working on my truck so there would be no miscommunication about what's going on with my truck. SA takes me right out into the shop to talk with him. I explained my situation, he pulls up a...
Ok. Thanks for all your insight. I'm anxious to find out what's causing this strange problem and I'll keep you updated. Unfortunately it's 2 weeks before I can get my truck into the dealer.
Check valve is oriented correctly. I haven't checked the vacuum before the check valve, but when I was monitoring it going down the road with a gauge tapped in before the solenoid it was running 20-22 inches when the system was operating as it should. So is there a check valve right at the...
Entire system holds vacuum. Already tested that. The problem is that it keeps making the check valve fail. If I go pull the check valve off my truck right now and try to blow through it from the engine side, it will pass air. And now my vacuum booster for my brakes loses it vacuum when the truck...
Check valve in iwe vacuum supply line keeps bleeding off vacuum causing the hub to try and engage whenever manifold vacuum is low for a period of time. A new check valve won't last 10 miles sometimes. I have replaced it 4 times and they just keep failing. And now the last couple days all the...
I've been having a problem with my truck ruining the vacuum check valve in the iwe system. I've went through 3 or 4 in the last couple hundred miles . I'm wondering if anyone can explain to me how the device works that the iwe system gets it vacuum from. Being it's a turbocharged engine I'm...
So last Wednesday i posted about my truck making the grind, clunk and bang noises intermittently under long uphill climbs. I was on my way to work. Changed the check valve in the parking lot at work before starting my day. On the way home it did it again, so I ran 4A the rest of the way home...
