I would still argue against that. I will agree that if your hydraulic brakes fail you could technically use the parking brake in an emergency. Implying that its an E Brake makes the masses think that you use that brake in an emergency stop(non brake failure type emergency) which is incorrect...
I see tons of FWD lowered or not cars that tear through CV boots. Not once did I think Honda/Nissan/Mazda etc was making crappy CV boots/joints. When you lower or lift a vehicle, it puts more stress on the CV joint/boot period. Since it was warrantied I'm not sure what the complaint is. There...
A lot of people refer to it as an "E brake" and that is incorrect. We used to get yelled at by our auto instructor about that. Think of it this way, in an emergency do you use the "E brake"? No, its only used for parking situations. Its a parking brake, not emergency brake
I always recommend the SuperCab if life situations allow. I love mine. For my lifestyle I would never consider a SuperCrew. If Ford discontinues the SuperCab I'll be shopping for a different vehicle my next go around. I never had an issue with the "smaller" gas tank. I've offroaded many places...
Your problem with killing batteries could be related to a bad battery sensor. I've seen them go bad on other makes and it can give you intermittent symptoms of a bad alternator. In fact we've changed alternators only to find that it was just a bad battery sensor. Always make sure the connections...
Yea I've seen a few here and there. I only go back to visit my parents now. You grow up in Petaluma? I graduated Casa Grande 1997. So much has changed since then. I was on a side street off East Washington couple months ago and saw a Raptor parked on the street. Maybe Ill see you around...
There are certain cars that are more prone to coils failing. Some cars require alot more work to reach the plugs/coils so some people just opt to change the coils as maintenance while doing plugs. Personally I wouldn't change the coils when doing plugs. However, if someone wants to change coils...
I would also like to know who diagnosed it as a stretched timing chain, what symptoms you were having and how come you replaced the whole engine. Not super common but timing chains do stretch sometimes. Ive seen them in Hondas, Minis, Audis and others. Most cases is always negligent. Usually not...
For an additional $100 I would have them LineX the rear wheel wells. Alot of people including myself did it ourselves. I used Rustoleum spray in bed liner on the wheel wells. Held up fine to rocks and offroading for 6 years in my 2013. Did the same on my 2019 and is good so far. Total cost was...
I think its just a rumor right? Majority of people buy Super Crews. Probably a financial decision by Ford. I hope its not true but I wouldnt blame them either.
Back in the 90's Mitsubishi discontinued the turbo Eclipse and only had the NA Eclipse. People complained about that too but only like...
Carmax offered me a lower amount and I showed them it was worth more then their offer. They increased their offer by 2k after I said that. I'd recommend not accepting the first offer.
Sold the Gen 1 2 years ago and I'm in a Gen 2 now. Both SuperCabs, both white. Love this thread. SuperCabs looks WAAAAY better then SuperCrews. If Ford discontinues the SuperCab someday I might need to look for something else.
They aren't really "Class" but load range. Load range D or E have more sidewall plies so they can handle more load. The drawback is they are heavier and not as comfortable. Acceleration and fuel economy will suffer as well.
I would always recommend you replace your rotors when you do pads. When you turn rotors, you are making them thinner, thus more prone to warping. If the rotors are warped already, you'd have to remove more material and possible go under minimum specs and end up needing new rotors anyways. Save...
toe needs to be corrected while steering wheel is straight. If wheel is off center and toe fixed then your wheel will most likely be off. Keep in mind most roads have a small crown to the right so sometimes that can cause a slight pull to right. Good alignment shop should be able to fix this...
I think it really depends how often you are gonna use it. I have Snap On cordless impact and ratchet. I love them. They are pricey but I use them everyday so well worthwhile. If you are a "hobbyist" alot of the brands mentioned already will do you fine. If you find a system that uses same...
I'm never in the fast lane long enough for someone to pass me, If I was passing someone stuck in the passing lane, I wouldn't brake check them but I would probably cut them off. There are Dbags everywhere, driving every kind of car, doesn't matter. I haven't ran into very many friendly Gen 2...
