Thought I'd just start a thread about my order progress, since people seem to compare notes on production timing a lot.
—Order placed 2/1/22. Raptor 35 (because 37s make it slower) with 801A, moonroof, ProPower, blue seats, beadlock capable wheels, and spray bedliner. Left the tonneau cover...
Someone help me understand Price Protection. When I ordered in February 2022 the truck was one price. I now have a window sticker and it's status is Built, and the MSRP has jumped ~$2700. This is on Ford's end, not the dealer. Will Ford reimburse me the price change from order to delivery, using...
This is much more a market issue than a Ford issue. Also for everyone complaining about production dates that keep bumping back, do you really think those are being entered based on anything? That's all systematized and probably automated. I ordered 2/1/22 and I'm just assuming I'll see the...
I know there are lots of threads covering which tonneau cover is best. Curious if the Gen 3 bed is the same, so I can just look at the Gen 2 threads to get info. Never bought a vehicle with so little support and info readily available. When I got a 2018 Gen 2 it already had huge AM support and...
I bet it starts in the high $90k range. I'll call my shot at $98k. Much less and it'll be too close to the V6 Raptor and everyone would go with the R. I think higher price will line up better with the halo vehicle optics that Ford is likely targeting.
I bet it only comes with 37s standard. No...
Seems like an absurd question. The Raptor R will be a street legal competitor to the TRX. It'll be a halo vehicle designed to be the last word in street legal trucks, and will be priced accordingly. The Bronco R is in no way related to this and is a stripped down race vehicle.
I'm pretty sure...
Correct. As an east coaster that's exactly the appeal. Plus it's nice beating on a truck that isn't mine. If you have access to that terrain and know what you're doing already, you can have more fun without the RA restrictions.
At Raptor Assault they actually recommended we keep the tires a little below the door recommendation, even on the road. They pointed out that dropping a few PSI really helps with rear hop over bumps and I found that to be true. I'd rather ride/composure over tire life personally.
Interesting. On the Gen 2 I preferred the recommended pressure on the door or lower. The back end was jumpy over road bumps when the pressure was higher. Hopefully the Gen 3's coil suspension will improve this and higher pressure will be a good option.
I wonder if there really were just batches of KO2s that were softer. My alignment was always good on my Gen 2 and I kept pressures around 30psi year-round (updating seasonally for temp). I assumed it was because I drive aggressively and most of my miles were windy country roads, not highway...
My dealer was totally incompetent so it took months to get the money, but this is how it's supposed to work, and it's this easy if the tire dealer knows what they're doing. All you have to do is press the issue and the tire dealer should be able to get you the tread life balance back as a...
Not doubting you. That it takes photographs doesn't mean it saves them or how it saves them or why it takes them. I'm as anti-government-surveillance as the next guy, but I also don't assume everything with a microphone or camera is a direct conduit to Biden's jack booted thugs.
Think about...
Interesting. I logged in to post this picture and ask what these are. I've seen YouTube videos where you can see IR lights inside both of them, which is how I noticed them. I believe you're wrong about the purpose but it's quite possible they're cameras. I think they're there for BlueCruise...
Yep, the obviously self-deprecating point there is that I can't say much driving a Fiesta in the interim. I don't get spending $65k on a truck and not spending the $15k more for the options. I've always approached buying new vehicles from the standpoint that if you can't afford the loaded...
I've been told Cobb has yet to crack the ECU for the Gen 3, which means they're probably not working on a tune yet. My gut is to say "why the heck is it taking so long, put more hours into it," but I have no idea what I'm talking about on that front.
Also I'm completely speculating on this...
Hmm. Don't imagine there is a VIN yet and I didn't get an order #. Same thing when I ordered my 2018. Never saw a VIN or any details until days before the truck showed up at the dealer.
I have no idea why anyone buys a base anything but some people do so you'll make money on it. I'd buy it and flip it the next day.
I'd never be able to live with it though. I sold my 2018 for almost what I paid in June. I'm driving a 2016 Fiesta while I wait for my Gen 3 and I prefer that to a...
As long as this doesn't affect adaptive cruise or lane keep I'll live. I like the idea of hands free cruise but rarely drive on the highway where it'll work.
