Yeah, it was night and day compared to my GT500 order where I got emails and updates every step of the process.
This was:
July 20th, 2022: Order Submitted
November 6th, 2023: The truck is on Lot, 15K ADM, what would you like to do?
They don't want to make a trade offer on the 35 since I'm...
I placed an order via text with a dealer who I assumed was never going to get it, and just got an email that it's in and ready, 15K ADM.
I'm not sure if I'm living in a dream where the dealer thinks they can go a year without any follow-up (letting me know the order was picked, or it's in...
Zone Reps grant allocations for FP cars by moving the Priority Code to 01-09, which signifies the allocation is being applied to a specific order.
Not going to dox my Dealer or my Rep, but I was CC'd on every single scheduling email for my GT500, it's a casual chat between the zone rep and the...
Until your priority code is set to anything less than 10, you do not have a confirmed allocation applied. Unscheduled Clean with a 10 or above is as meaningless as everything else, just means your order is in WBDO. The rep moving the order to the lower codes signifies the allocarion being...
Why would they give it standard treatment when they’re only building ~2500/year?
This years allocations are already all already sold, the fact they’re doing any press is shocking.
The sticker indicates how it leaves the plant. Not how it’s shipped to your dealer.
Usually it’s Rail -> Convoy but in some cases it’s Convoy -> Rail -> Convoy.
Only to the dealers who are very close to the plants are it just straight “Convoy”.
The only thing the sticker will tell you is...
Regional reps work for Ford and not the dealer they would never be on a dealers website.
Also, with the restructuring a couple months ago, most of the regional reps don’t work at Ford anymore so there’s a much smaller ratio of reps to dealers.
It's 100% within the rules. If the name that gets put on the title does not match the name on the customer order, it's a name match validation failure. So the dealer is going to take the hit on their percentages. If they're taking the hit anyway, they're completely allowed to make 10k off...
They’re not building that small number of raptors because there’s not demand or production capacity does not allow it.
Ford Performance does this with all of their cars/trucks/suvs. It's supposed to be a "limited" run.
You also need to factor all of the other stuff that they do for the...
Nothing of substance to add, but:
This would be a much easier conversation if the 37 was sold on equal footing (and didn't require a sub allocation to order).
I just want to go to Starbucks, but the dealer told me "We're all out of sub allocations for 37s, if you want one of our six, you...
Correct,
Priority 10/20 is useful for mass produced cars/trucks where the dealer earns allocations/builds all the time. 10/20 is how the corporate scheduling team knows what orders to pull "next", however with specific limited allocation cars (GT500, Raptor R) where dealers only get a handful...
the paperwork was sent to me proving they have an allocation.
- Unless you have an email from the zone rep, there's no "Proof" that a dealer can provide you that they have an allocation.
The Type says Stock
- This is a stock order then, it's not going to be in your name. And if the dealer...
It has nothing to do with supply chains.
Ford Performance vehicles have always operated like this.
GT500, Raptor, Explorer ST, Ford Performance does not make mass market vehicles for as many people as will buy them.
You realize the R is a less than 5,000 unit per year limited production truck right?
The media typically all have access to the same fleet of ~10 trucks.
They haven’t even started building the ones for sale for MY23.
They did schedule this week, for the build week of 10/10, they just didn't push it to Dealer Fleet News where the person who posts it usually gets it.
He mis-speaks and says 22 F150, but the balance out date for Dearborn was 10/9, they started MY23 on 10/10.
That's what it means, the day the chassis and body come together.
When the VIN is stamped on the Chassis is when the window sticker goes live, then it's "in-production" for a bit. The blend date is when those two meet, and then depending on accessories/options it may go to Body Company/Trim...
Emails and order previews don’t mean anything.
Every dealer, allocations or not can create an order.
Until you have a vin you don’t have anything meaningful.
