Ran stock tune for 1+ month, reflashed V2 today, pinging comes back on.... can rule the gas faulty out now I think.
Tried -2 global spark, slightly less ping but still very audible when engine under light load in 5th/6th gear ... haven't try -4, doubt it will make much difference seeing how...
Only found one thread, but ended without a solution.

Thanks... But not the stock bumper

Just the Roush phase2 kit.. not sure what kind of HE comes with... cannot find a clear photo online, but might be a very tight fit if even possible with a winch installed.
Any aftermarket HEs that is much smaller but still efficient enough?
To the supercharged owners, can you still fit a winch behind stock bumper? Does the radiator get in the way?
To be specific, I am looking at the Roush phase2 kit now. Have the smittybilt x20 12000lb installed behind stock bumper, really wants to keep it!
I'll have to do that too... also have the upper 30inch bar and a winch, hope can still keep the winch at least! I will go see your setup when you done!
P0446 Code fix?
Keep getting this code back on.. this is the second time in about 1000 miles. Before taking it to the dealership, I would like to ask if everyone have a fix for this. With a whipple installed, the dealership probably won't cover it under warranty anyways.
I don't know... to have 3 tanks of bad gas in a row, chances are slim I think.
Haven't heard back anything from SVC. Truck will be in the dealer for check up soon, so don't wanna play with tunes right now.
91 since day one...
Point is, I have had the tune for over a year, it's only started pinging maybe 2 months ago, 2~3 tanks of gas gone through. Besides the possible gas (I really doubt about that), is it possible that something is really wrong in the engine? Just talking about the possibilities.
No I didn't. Just went in for a quick road test with tech.
Going in for the check over soon, hope the flash won't raise any questions :baby:
But, should I bring the truck in anyways? since restored to stock, there's no more pinging/noise.
Have you figured this out? Exactly what I experienced recently... SVC 91 tune. Temperature doesn't matter in my case, pinging like diesel in 5th and 6th gear.
Restored stock tune today, pining gone. I have had this tune for over a year, only started pinging 1~2 months ago.
Shell 91 from day one. Emailed Jeff already, see what he says.
I didn't mess with the tuner, just restored stock tune. Noise is now gone. Tech also booked me in to have the truck checked over, so I guess better leave it stock until after.
Gas is 91. Not my daily drive so usually one tank per month, I doubt the gas is the cause. But why it happens now not from the beginning bugs me... Already email Jeff, see what he says.
The tech booked the truck in to have it checked. So I will run stock tune until checked over. Just back...
SVC tune... always Shell 91 (I am in Canada), and always one of the two Shell stations close to my house.
As far as I can recall, I noticed the noise 1~2 months ago, never thought it's the tune, as I have been running the tune for over a year! Restored to stock, drove 20kms back home, no...
UPDATE:
Nothing wrong mechanically... It's the tune caused engine ping. Restored to stock, noise gone...
Now has to determine why? I have been running the tune for about a year, only noticed the noise month ago.
After almost 8000kms on the tune, it started ping, like a diesel... took to the dealer as I thought it was sth rattle in the drive-train.. turns out to be the pre-igintion (tech said). So I returned to stock, ping gone... any thoughts?
I crawled underneath to investigate the vibrate sound that happens when accelerating on uphill. Like the sound of a piece of metal vibrate or a bolt loose at joint, hard to describe. Say, I am in 5th gear cruising then hit an uphill, as soon as I step on the gas lightly just to maintain the...
