Ouray is such a fantastic place. Had an epic week of hiking and offroading.
Used the funtreks guide book with their gps chip in a garmin. Made it so simple to follow and find trails even a nimrod could do it.
This is the Charles Wells funtreks site https://funtreks.com/products/
Scroll down to the Moab stuff.
I used just the book in Moab and it worked awesome but now they have a gps chip too.
I stuck to “green” trails and had no issue and should have tried some “yellow” trails.
I have 37’s with...
Geisers lift 2.5 inches so with Deaver +2” springs your .5” nose high. With Deaver +3 your half inch rear high. It’s a tiny difference but the owner will notice it. I grew up watching Mickey Thompson stadium series and early trophy Trucks so a little nose high is how I think an Offroad truck...
These guys have been in the industry forever.
Some are former Fox employees that worked in the race shop rebuilding and tuning shocks for every kind of Offroad racing possible.

Bottom line despite wheel offset I have 17” methods. I have Geiser springs up front and she’s never rubbed. Not in Moab on twisty, rocky trails, not in baja hitting “uh oh” holes at speed.
The Geisers are FIRMER. It doesn’t bug me at all but just letting you know.
I don’t have a dog in this...
I asked the guys at Baja HQ about the Eibachs yesterday and they said they “heard” that Eibach redesigned them and that they’re Raptor spring is supposedly better now.
Like I said, do your research.
I believe I have an offset of 0/4.75 on a 17” method rim
I’ve read that stock is 0/5.00 on a 17” rim so the method seems to be a quarter inch different but I pretty much told Baja HQ I like these rims and I don’t want them to rub and they ordered the rims so I’m not positive. From the method...
Remember it will be stiffer on the road. She’ll lose that super plush ride but it won’t be bad, it’s just not as soft as it was on the highway. It’s no biggie to me but just wanted to make sure I mentioned it again. There’s trade offs for everything.
Awe nuts. One more. I’ve heard from some peeps we race against that also own an upfitter and Trophy Truck shop that they didn’t like the way the Eibachs worked at all.
Just FYI, do your research, things change and products get better.
I wondered about all the shock tuning and valving but after I switched to the Geisers she worked so much better that I stopped thinking about it. I’ve also read that using the perch spacer effects the stroke too but I don’t understand how. Supposedly it’s over compressed?
I’m not an engineer...
Last one for now.
Cameron Steele has ridden with me in my Shortbus, he races TT’s (Just won the Baja Mil) and is a Co-Owner in The Baja HQ shop for raptors and actually owns 2 Raptors. One they put the full RPG long travel kit on front and rear and the other only has the Fox aftermarket shocks...
I’m a Nimrod so I’m going by seat of the pants not real numbers.
The 37” tires with no rubbing is part of the deal. In Baja where a lot of the terrain sees 40” tires 37’s are a big step up from 35’s and the Geisers got that for me.
The Geisers feel stiffer especially on low speed stuff like...
Just back to reload and head back south. Awesome time of chasing for the Desert Assassins and the Baja HQ Raptor shop down there. Nothing makes you feel slow in your Raptor like a Geiser Brothers Trophy Truck flying by. Epic time.
I’ve never autocrossed mine but I have a had a ton of heat and fade running the fast but winding dirt road that’s often times used for the Baja 500 from Erendira to Santo Tomas. I came here to hopefully find some useful info not I use my Baja Hot Rod for towing and it never fades.
I have Geiser springs upfront and Deaver +2” in the back on 37” BFG’s. I haven’t been in a parking garage I don’t fit in yet but it feels really scary every time I drive into one.
My front sits about .5” higher than the back with this setup.
