Though I personally have no desire to have a V8, I love that Ford isn’t letting dodge win at any category (besides most fuel consumed). Dodge, aside from a total redesign, has no ability to close the gap with an equivalently powered Raptor. When your competitor weighs 1k less and has just as...
Sorry for reviving an old thread but any long term update on this @Droid? Did you replace the fuse with a different type or did you just remove it entirely?
I get people saying that they are ok with the reduction in privacy for the increase in features but I am amazed by the other two types...
No luck. My 2019 and 2020 do it. Only while in gear at a stop. Think it might be worst in 4WD low. Nothing in neutral or reverse.
can the tech’s hear it?
But I’m guessing the kids foundation is a non profit, which have different rules.
A guy at a junk job I had after high school tried this with his motorcycle - $50/ticket. Once it got out that he had promised to make sure another person won (in exchange for $1k), he called it off.
This guy...
Nothing on my 2020, not surprisingly. It will be interesting to hear the technical details behind it. Not sure your mention went though so I’ll ping @FordTechOne again, should he have any more details.
I posted on his channel a few months back saying what most on here say - your modifications, your problem. He replied to say that it has been doing it since it was stock. If that’s true, I have no idea why he would start modifying it before having it fixed. If I were him, I would monitor...
15.8 MPG seems a little low. Let me guess, you were going over 80 most of the time?
My fuel economy plummets above about 75MPH. I’ve pulled in as high as 22MPG when I focus on it and drive like an old lady peaking to 60MPH in the straights.
Glad you enjoyed the truck! This is what they’re for...
Also the timeout is ridiculously fast. You click it, read what it says, look back to click it again and by then, that mode is already selected. I had to show my dad to keep cycling through the modes until he was sure what he wanted because letting off, even for an instant, will drop you into...
OP mentioned a Retrax cover, which appear to be 90lbs. Diamondback is 70lbs for both panels plus struts and center. Probably less than 90lbs overall and you can walk on it! Then with a retrax, you need a rack on top to put cargo on (you cannot mount directly to the cover) so it would be heavier...
I would highly recommend a Diamondback bed cover instead. You can mount racks to it or just strap down your load on top. Way more useful than one that can’t take load. I’m planning to mount a chase rack to mine
I’m that guy a lot, sadly. Every jackass concludes that their speed is the maximum safe speed and flips off those who pass them. I don’t know why these Honda’s can’t understand that others can safely exceed their current speed (thanks to better equipment/tires/experience)
I got stuck 14 cars...
It’s a pretty big difference. When I was snow wheeling back in October, I’d get stuck from time to time. I’d give it some gas, hear the Torsten start to lock up and that’s when I’d start moving.
I went through this a while ago Raptor vs Tremor (+ Carli suspension). While catching air on a remote CO pass three weeks after I got the truck, I realized I made the right decision. Super duty’s need a lot of work to be good offroad and will never handle as good on or off road. Also, resale of...
Which is kind of ridiculous. My girlfriend is a 3rd grade teacher and what do all her students want to be when they grow up? You guessed it! “Youtubers”. Kids think that this is how you should make it in life. Destroying stuff for likes. Or just film yourself doing whatever. I’m still too young...
Good article. Would love to see your impressions of the brakes and roof rack.
After 2 years of research, I went with a diamondback cover. Can take more weight than I’ll ever put in (1600lbs) and has accessories for everything.
I hadn’t seen this posted yet so I figured I’d add it:

I think this jump is out of reach or a stock Raptor and definitely out of reach of a...
I used to feel this way but RA made me appreciate the modes. Makes it really easy to throw the keys to my girlfriend without having to explain when to use 4H. Snow = slippery mode.
I’ve noticed it numbs the throttle. Shifts feel smoother too in order to not break traction. I’m guessing it also...
That’s an interesting idea. Pure engine braking should not involve any fuel injection so timing wouldn’t do anything but who knows these days. I could see them injecting some fuel to keep the engine warm on long grades in the cold.
I never considered using the IAC motor but that’s possible...
It used to be that the engine would shutoff all fuel during engine braking. On my Turbocharged Jeep Wrangler TJ, I would see 1600F EGT’s climbing the pass and 250F on the way back down. Warped 3 exhaust manifolds doing this.
That’s good to know. I can see how too much braking when towing is unstable. I’ve also heard that you should engine break only with RWD when in snow. Maybe because in slippery mode, it is in 4A/4H, Ford reduces braking.
The other day I was coming down a mountain pass here in CO. I usually hold M4 on the way down and M3 in one particularly steep spot. For some reason, this wasn’t working for me. I was in M3 at like 4500 RPM’s and accelerating. When I shifted back to drive at the bottom, it made a popping sound...
So I used my engine block heater for the first time last night up here in the high Rockies. To see if it was working, I pulled out my thermal imager and found that almost the entire engine was warm.
Got me wondering, how does the engine block heater work? Is there heating/charging going to the...

My 2019 did this and my 2020 still does this. First noticed at 5k miles but I didn’t actually listen before this so I can’t say if it was not there.
I did notice the truck at Raptor Assault did NOT do this.
Also, I think it’s more...
