I don’t know how he knows, but he either has a great contact or is somewhere in the Ford system. He regularly posts info before we see it elsewhere and it’s nearly always correct.
We pay 4.73c/kWh and I'm getting 3.2-3.3 miles/kWh so it is almost free.
If people charge at night it nearly eliminates the risk of overtaxing the grid
8-12k. I totally get that right now but in the future, if you had many more EVs, you could program a 10-15% release and the energy company could give substantial credits rather than investing in new power sources
I put "surplus" like that for a reason. I don't know that much about how the grid works, but understand that there are many different sources of power. Say energy production can top 90gW for Texas...usage hangs around 40 most nights during peak times from what I've seen. EVs won't touch it...
Have you taken a look at power sources and supply over a 24hr period? The cheapest and easiest to produce power is obviously used first, and the most expensive are last resort. Coincidentally, many of the plants do not shut units down even when demand is low . This happens to be when most EVs...

I'm on the verge. I drove over to a dealership that's offering 10k off MSRP, putting them close to the Raptor....and some great tech, nicer interior.
It's a no brainer if these R's go for 150k
I placed an order through my dealer (who I’ve spent a lot of money with) and when I drove my Lightning up there (at their requests, picked it up before most salesmen got to see it), one let it slip that they had 20 orders for 4 Raptors.
It’s a **** move, but I called a ton of other local...
I’ve been looking pretty hard. Most that show up are already spoken for. The ones that are not are generally an ADM. I’ve had one out of 30ish that I’ve called claimed MSRP only but they wouldn’t sell out if state
This was after the Houston flood, and they ordered a ton of trucks as well as the new year coming out. They had trucks sitting at the port and I wasn’t able to see the truck and it was unique so I agreed to a deposit since I was leaving on vacation.
Got back a week later, and go to see my new...
