This truck has the electronic parking brake too. It would be nice to use that, just seemed less intuitive. For example, can the E-brake be modulated? Or is it just lock / off?
After seeing the Trail Turn feature in action on the Bronco, we're trying hard to duplicate it on my 2018 F150. Would really help the turning radius, especially with aftermarket suspension and bigger tires. We've got the mechanical part installed, but need to work out the plumbing so it will...
Initially he was confident he'd make the date but as we got closer, it was clear he wouldn't. He was up front about that, but everything (flight, hotel, time off work, etc) was already booked so I went anyways. Hadn't laid eyes on the thing in like 18 months, so it was good to see it in person.
There have been many 'completion dates', all of which are in the past. Most recent one was last Monday where I actually went to Vegas to pick it up, but it wasn't done. He told me he needed another 1.5-2 weeks.
Coming down to the wire here. Got bumpers drawn and hopefully sent off to the laser cutting joint soon. Still waiting on the bodywork, but I believe that's the last variable.
Naw man. It's all good, everyone's got their thing. I can appreciate the restomod game walking around SEMA, but don't want to drive one 1000 miles over a long weekend. With the F150 I get a quiet sealed cab, adaptive cruise, climate control, cooled seats, heated wheel, all the AV crap, etc...
The chassis is a whole 'nother story. Bit of a gut check when your nice truck turns into this
The idea was to back half the truck but maintain the functionality of the factory bed.
Fabbed rear frame rails
On the table
I'm about a year overdue posting this, but with this project wrapping up next month I figured I better share sooner than later. The theme with this build was to create the ultimate enduro truck - a vehicle that would tackle anything the back country might throw at it, while still having the...
Ah gotcha. Thanks guys. I pulled that fuse, but can just unplug the window wire connectors instead. In AZ, so I'll probably never need any of that defrosting stuff anyhow.
Hmm, i've always been tempted to wrap it but had concerns over the bigger branches tearing the film. My truck is usually the widest thing on the trail so I get a LOT of pinstriping. Are there some films that are tougher than others?
Schnebly is really pretty but that lower section is slowwww. You must air down if you're going to have any fun.
You should take 89 north and go check out the fire roads west of Forest Highlands, including 'edge of the world'. That's a faster area with great views from the plateau down south...
Also more cycles on your CVs, but more importantly your CV boots. I have had the RCV IWE eliminators for a year now and they certainly eliminate the failure hassles of the factory IWE system. I am currently upgrading to the new style RCV axles (no orange circle boots) and will update once I...
Yeah exactly. The top of the track tucks under the bed rail and the bottom wedges against the wheel well. Hand tighten the bolt and everything is held together sung. Works perfect.
Put a nutsert in each inner fender and used a custom eyebolt to hold the track to each side of the bed. Keeps it tucked firmly and nicely out of the way. Only cost $8, so most Raptor owners would prefer a more complex and expensive solution.
The factory IWE lines are crap and crack crumble apart after a few years. Get the IWE eliminator kit from RCV and never worry about any of that stuff again.
