I guess I never thought of it that way. I like my Raptor, but to me it’s not a halo vehicle. I typically drive slow and relaxed (because I drive fast for a living) so the need or desire for speed just isn’t there. I’m more interested in the transmission tuning than anything. Due to this, I...
See the below pics. The front one I polished. The rear one I did not. The light tricks the eye a little bit, but I can assure you it is nice and even. It is coated with a 2 year ceramic coating.
Is it worth doing if I primarily only use 87 octane? In my area we only have 87, 89, and 93. Just curious how much there is to gain if I only plan on filling up with 87 and using a 87 specific tune.
The shocks weren't the problem. It wasn't cut correctly for the OEM fender flares and they were warped on the edges, causing the flares to be pushed out about 1/4" from the body.
Since you were in the garage with me, how come you didn't guide me through the process? Could have saved me a...
This is exactly what I did to even out my flares that had inconsistencies from the factory. Just two passes on a low speed with my polisher using Megs 205 and they look great. Almost no gloss and no comparable difference to the ones that I didn't polish. Don't get scared when you see a little...
Go to Harbor Freight and get the long throw DA polisher. Buy the ultra fine pad and get a finishing polish or cleaner wax. You want something that doesn’t have a lot of cutting power. Polish the flares lightly and blow out the pad frequently. I did this on my flares because they had some factory...
When it comes to modifications, I like to pursue those that lighten my vehicles up as much as possible and then improve the stock suspension. That being said, I'm interested in hearing the opinions of guys who switched from OEM to Venomrex / Vorsteiner wheels. They seem to be the lightest and...
When I had my 2014 Platinum, this was a common theme for that generation F150s. All of us on the F150 forum were getting the rubber based pipe insulation and insulating the cold side under the hood. I did it right after I purchased my truck and it made a 4-5 degree temperature difference at the...
Scratches Happen, sold online. Good prices and they are all great matches. The jar is nice because you can pull the paint up in a syringe. I use 18 gauge.
Good feedback. Thank you. I want to tune the truck, but I question whether the Goose is $1500 better than the 5Star. I'm just looking for the best option that doesn't break the bank. 5star has awesome customer service also, with free lifetime revisions. How was the transmission tuning?
After having the Husky liners in my last F-150, it was the first thing I bought when I got my Raptor. The ones Husky sent me for the Raptor were deformed and did not fit at all. They weren't even close to fitting under the flares, even after I took the flares loose. I trimmed them to fit, but...
Anyone else have experience with 5 Star tunes on the Raptor? I ran a 5 Star tune from 2016 - 2022 on my 2014 F-150 Platinum with a Ecoboost motor and it ran awesome for 50,000 miles. Is there something I should know about regarding the Raptors?
Gave it a wash. The one thing that drives me nuts about this truck is the matte finish on the flares and bumpers. Someone scratched the crap out of my rear bumper at the store and I cannot fix it by buffing it out....the matte finishes show EVERY imperfection and the paint is thin.
I was going to wait until the 2024s are ready for order but I may go ahead and grab one in Avalanche. I saw it in person today and it’s awesome with the bead lock wheels. I think I like it more than my Performance Blue.
Yes, the paint I purchased was a bad mix. I asked my detailer and he pointed me in the right direction. I used a different company that had a perfect match.
