I didn't flame them publicly and didn't go off, but I filled up an entire page in a word document on my service experiences since I've owned the truck and gave them realistic ratings on every question in the survey. I will still be calling Ford CS.
To be honest...the moon roof isn't even what I care about the most. It's things like being denied warranty on a broken seatbelt that they "repaired" 2 months ago during warranty. Then I have to argue with them to cover it. They didn't even put the interior panels back in place while I wait...
Never had a moonroof on any previous vehicle that breaks because it's not used. My take on Toyotas is based on my experiences with owning them. I can only compare what I have experienced. Many flawless Toyotas and one **** of a Ford that constantly needs repairs. The fact that my local Ford...
Having to fight with Ford to get a seatbelt fixed that they already have serviced once under warranty is making me consider Toyotas again regardless. I'm also having to fight with them about moonroof tracks....they say is a wear and tear item....and I've never opened it since the last repair...
I've serviced my 2018 every 5k miles and about to hit 70k total miles. I have had the following:
Transmission re-flash at 13k miles for harsh shifting.
Cam phaser replaced at 20k miles
Moonroof rattles fixed
Frozen door locks around 40k miles
Drivers side seat heater element replaced around...
Why bother? The tweaker that tried to steal my gas cut the filler hose above the tank. He was caught in the middle of it by the security at my work and we couldn't figure out what he had been doing. I only figured it out when I went to fill it up and gas started spilling all over the place...
I haven't done a ton of high speed stuff, but it's held up to a couple runs with small jumps and around 2 years of normal driving. I haven't had to tighten the clamps nor has my seal failed. Does going full speed over speed bumps count? ;)
I work in IT. Some electronics last decades, some fail out of the box, and the rest fail randomly somewhere in between. The only commonality among them is they are usually very expensive and hard to troubleshoot. I'd have a warranty solely for this. Not exactly vehicle related, but we bought...
I've had cam phasers twice on my truck so far, 20k miles and 50k miles. I'm at 67k miles now and I plan on keeping it until about 125k miles. I've had the preventative cam phaser reprogramming (21B10), but it caused the engine shudder so it's getting the 21N08 reprogramming to remove it. If...
This....and you can even buy online up to 41k miles, but you will get a $100 discount for buying before your factory expires. Zeigler Ford also has competitive prices to Flood and they do sales sometimes. If I were you, I'd sign up for their newsletters and wait for a deal to come through.
How much water you getting in?
I get some when going through car washes too, but it's not much and I expected it given the design. I even went through a wash with my battery powered chainsaw sitting underneath it the other day and wasn't worried by the amount I knew would get through...
Why? Ford puts it in the manual to handle the lowest common denominator of society for liability reasons. If you check the clearances, there is no issue with it. I quit washing my Gen 2 by hand 2 years ago once I found the car washes in my area that it fits in. I currently have 3 viable...
Sorry...if I wasn't clear, but the front coil change is also a night and day difference for handling and stability. Have you ever put yours through any hide speed runs on rough terrain or technical off-roading yet? I have with mine and would never go back to stock. My personal belief is that...
Yes, I do have one on my truck, for about a year now. The side doors are about the same size as the rear hatch. I would agree, I would not leave my dog in there sealed up. I think you'd be fine with the side doors opened while at a stop, they are literally almost the size of the side of the...
It's black and metal with no insulation, so yeah, I could see it running hotter than fiberglass in direct sun. I live in the Pac NW so we don't get too many really hot days. You could possibly line it with solar insulation to help reflect heat.
@K9 EXPERT - It's called a positive pressure air...
I didn't do it for leveling, I did it for the improved ride and stability. Have you actually driven a Raptor with the springs changed out or are you just making assumptions, because it's night and day difference. Replacing springs will always be in my "new truck budget" from now on...
Ford is a business and will cut any corner they can to save money. Just look at the silly stuff they did on the '17 to 18' models to save a few bucks. Keep your stock setup and I'll just stay happy over here with my improved one.
A guy on the Tremor forum has a buddy with a Gen 3 Raptor who was moving his cap over from his Gen 2. He said the guy had to put on a new front piece (they come in 5 pieces) that is one inch longer than the original, so that may add a touch more weight given the material increase. Not sure why...
The one for my Gen 2 weighs 198 lbs if my memory is correct. With that and my off-roading essentials in the back, I sag with about 400 lbs in the bed. So I put Eibachs up front and Deaver +3 HD in the rear. Wish I had gone with the +4 for when I tow. Given that the Gen 3 has rear coils, it’ll be...
