Got the truck back late last night. Recall complete. No other items were found. Truck was dirty as can be. 11 days for a transmission program seems excessive.
Cars and bids and bring a trailer have become premium price platforms. Covid really caused an uptick in traffic I think. Makes it much less fun to shop
Thank you! It will be our first two! Twin boys. Already told my wife I’m driving my gen 1 to 100k then putting it in storage. Voila their first car. It’s big enough they can share
The car is in pretty good condition given its age and mileage. It’s by no means a cream puff but it has been well cared for. I absolutely love M cars but as many know they demand quite a bit from the owner. This has been a fun car but it’s time to move it on to a more motivated owner.

Selling my X5 M
We have twins on the way so we picked up an X7 and keeping the Raptor
feel free to make an offer to go to a good home and an FRF discount
cheers
Man that stinks. I have heard that regular greasing is critical for these units. I wish you the best of luck going forward and please share the process.
I think a member on here recently rebuilt his, I’ll search around to find out who
cheers
I felt the same way. Unfortunately both dealers nearby do not offer appointments And it’s first come first served. I think they plan to replace the lead frame as well.
I have premium care on my truck and assumed this work will be covered, does anyone have experience with lead frame replacements...
Update
Truck is in the shop at Homer Skelton Ford in Olive Branch, MS. They say they may have it a couple of weeks for the programming/lead frame and a couple of other small things I’d like looked at. They were very surprised another dealer would recommend against ford safety recalls, as was I.
Thanks for the tips! Indeed I took this photo before hitting it with the heat gun. After heating it up it bonded perfectly and has held up very well! The finish is rough, very similar to line X. Mine are about 5” wide and to be honest this application was just proof of concept and in no way...
Wow price drop to 47,998. Seems to be a fair deal. It’s amazing how the interiors on these trucks can look like 100k mile interiors in 10k miles. if I hadn’t found my screw I probably would have bit on this one. Good find.
