I have the ford performance touring. It’s a nice setup. Has borla stamps all over it. I would say it’s a smidge louder than stock. I can’t complain and my neighbors haven’t either when I remote start at midnight for work.
I really don’t understand how the process works for dealerships getting paid back for warranty work. I assumed that they just complete repairs under consultation with ford who ultimately authorizes and pays the bill. I assume they put a lot of trust in the tech but I’m sure it’s gotten much more...
In this case Nex I would prefer they throw parts at it. I prefer they’d replace all coils and all plugs in every cylinder that is misfiring. Not just the one that is throwing the code.
When I get the truck back the first order of business will be to replace all the other coils/plugs. If one...
Update
replaced #4 coil and associated 2 plugs
unsurprisingly they did not do any work on the other cylinders showing misfires, but no code.
If anyone is curious, $725 for the work before I reminded them of my ESP. Hopefully I get the truck back soon, they said either tonight or Monday which...
NJ truck, look at the rust on the tow hooks, usually a sign of what’s to see underneath. Not that it’s not salvageable but a lot of these trucks have pretty nasty undercarriages when it comes to rust. For the right price any raptor is a good raptor.
Bringing the truck in tomorrow to give the dealer one last chance to make it right. In the meantime I have new Denso coils on order to complete my plug, wire, coil inventory. My garage is full of Raptor parts and I don’t mind. My wife has a differing opinion.
Belt, idlers and tensioner have been replaced on your suggestion. No luck. The EVAP is certainly ticking. Hit it with the stethoscope and it’s certainly mimicking the noise I’m hearing. That being said, it may be a normal tick. I need another raptor to compare it to. However I don’t think my...
Yes still chasing noise! Heard almost solely when inside the cab with doors closed. When the hood is open the injectors tend to drown it out.
The wrench is a blinking wrench and (i assumed) a misfire. sometimes the wrench goes away after it settles.
It went to ford and they said I had “water...
when I had my wife bring the rpm up to 1200 so I could try to find the source of the noise, it seemed it was coming from the TB although I couldn’t pin it down. Is the purge valve a point of failure on these trucks, and could it be related to the EVAP issue I’m having? @Gumby really has me thinking!
