They have two on every run. With flat bed trailers attached. With two mechanics. The trucks even have welding machines. No one wants to be down on a run. Those mechanics work late into the night / early morning fixing trucks. Pretty amazing!
Can’t speak for anybody but myself. I prep my truck before a run. Everything torqued to spec, then paint marked. Shocks / lines checked for leaks / kinks. Tie rods, axles checked. Basically anything that is on the truck.
Some guys drive really fast, I’m not in the top group. They go anywhere...
Hate to disagree with you. That red Raptor has stock OEM Live Valve Fox Shocks with Geiser springs. I know the guy, and I was there. The next day he was looking at my truck saying “I’m getting those shocks”.
I’m the opposite kind of. After that happened I said to everybody there, I don’t mind breaking on the trail, but it scares the Hell out of me thinking it could happen on the road when we’re flying doing about 90 to the next hotel. But my friends were pretty lucky, and the chase team fixed it on...
He’s speaking the truth! I was just behind that truck on the last Raptor Run in Baja. He made the turn ahead of me, then I heard on the radio “I’m down”! Came around the corner to find that mess. What you don’t really see in the video is that luckily the truck dug down, and the berm stopped it...
Sorry, didn’t think it was confusing. The stock Raptor Fox shocks are Live Valves, IMO.
Yes, FRS - Fox Racing Series 3.0 shocks, roughly $7500 for the four, unless you catch a sale somewhere.
SDI revalved them. They don’t tell you what they do, or what oil they claim “Special Sauce”, they...
No unfortunately, sorry. Think I bought it off of Amazon. Bought it cause I noticed the spring powder coat had worn off. Bought a 10’ bag. Had enough to do both the Raptor and Bronco, with left over.
Love build threads!!! Looks great so far. Only tip I can provide is you might want to think about installing some plastic spiral wrap on the shock lines. They will eventually make contact with the springs.
100% better than my stock 3.0 FRS shocks. I know this for fact as when I ran Baja on an EXO Run, I bottomed a lot. Once the SDI ECik system was installed, I haven’t bottomed since.
Same with comfort level on road. The truck feels like a Caddy now. I’m not saying that to try and sell anyone on...
I’ve had SDI’s E-Clik on my truck for 2 years. It’s probably the best mod / money spent that I did to my truck. Well worth the price. Get SDI to revalve your shocks too.
