I think "misfires" are typical at idle on the 3.5 EB. With my COBB stage 2 I had bad misfires (hesitation, knocking) at WOT. After gapping the colder plugs to 0.026 the WOT misfires resolved. Mine was mostly...
As in, I have to buy/carry octane booster every time I fill up, which is a lot. Torco and Boostane are not cheap at $30 - $35 a bottle that will basically do one tank (26 gallons). You are looking at ~$120 fill-ups. If I was running at a drag strip then it makes sense, but I often fuel up...
I have a 2017. I have no idea what the plugs are in the 2020. I originally changed to sp542's in the 1st year of ownership due to misfire issues. That resolved all issues as I was also running the Livernois tune.
When the Cobb stage 2 changes I had misfires again but I think it's a...
Update:
I changed all the plugs (sp542's with ~40k miles on them) to the replacement M-12405-35T gapped at 0.025. Did a bunch of WOT pulls in normal and sport. Zero misfires at WOT with boost 23 - 24 psi on any of the cylinders. It pulled hard and smooth through all gears. In all honesty...
I’m jealous of your trucks durability. My 17 has not been as kind but since I paid cash on day #1 it’s ride or die until next generation comes around.
I’m at 57k miles and just went Cobb stage 2. Now upgrading rotors/pads and leaf springs. To me it’s cheaper and more fun than buying...
I’m running the Cobb stage 2 as of this weekend and was getting bad misfire (truck “bucking) only in cylinder #6 at WOT. I pulled all the plugs (sp542’s) and gapped to 0.025 and that helped 95% but still got a misfire read on the V3. I could not feel/hear the misfire vs before gapping down to...
I have everything to swap to COBB stage 2 and hopefully installing this weekend assuming the weather participates. I bought a garage heater as the anticipation is killing me. I have been piling garage parts for the past 4 weeks.
1. Whipple IC
2. Whipple CAI
3. AMS inlet turbo tubes

Bump... Anyone change out the intercooler pipes when upgrading stock intercooler? I am putting in whipple IC next week and turbosmart BOV. I am curious if anyone changed out their piping and felt it was actually worth while.
Did anybody just upgrade their cold/hot side intercooler pipes and silicone boots at the same time when doing the IC change?

Subscribed. I'm about ready to roll over 60,000 miles and be out of warranty and was wondering the same thing.
I currently have a Livernois tune and am thinking about MPT vs Cobb and adding CAI + upgraded intercooler.
The switch is illuminated. It’s grounded to the body where it’s always been grounded - connection is tight.
it’s -35 F here with windchill so it’s making it hard to do much.
thanks for the tips guys.
I run Baja Design squadron pro x 2 lights on Auxiliary switch #1. I have had them wired since 2017 without issue. As of yesterday they have stopped working. The S2 pros on Aux #6 continue to work without issue.
I checked the fuse and it looks fine, I even swapped with Aux #2's fuse (15A) and...
Supposedly the housing was cracked where the transfer case bolted up, but I called BS as it was perfect until the "roll pin" recall. I think the tech neglected to re-install/replace the transmission dowel pins, which caused the entire transmission/T-case to flex and cause damage. First blamed...
2017 Scab. Build date 2/2017. 56,400 miles.
1. Roll pin recall 12/2017
2. New transmission oil pan seal 12/2017
3. New oil pan for leaking 12/2017
4. Leak between transmission and transfer case with seal replacements 1/2018
5. New transmission 2/2018 (on the lift ~6 weeks waiting on...
I am going to eat the post warranty costs until prohibitive
Same sentiments on my end too. I do majority of my own work as well. I am hoping to keep this version until next Raptor 3.0 comes out.
Yep. This truck gets one shot post-warranty. I will fix it and move on to something else if issues. I love everything about this truck but the ongoing issues have left a bad taste in my mouth. I am not sure I'd buy another one, but unfortunately there's nothing else out there quite like it.
I've done IWE x 2 as well and most recently entire hub assemblies on both sides. I have had the oil pan x 1. The transmission pan x 1 and new transmission at 9,000 miles x 1. I have 55,000 miles and just had the timing chain cover sealant replaced due to a oil leak I noticed when changing my...
