I found the flex fuel option in forscan, it was disabled so I enabled it. I tried out 1/2 tank of E85 when I filled up to take a 120 mile drive to go to my property to camp. I was towing a 6'x10' cargo trailer loaded with camping supplies. I didn't really notice any difference in performance or...
I just got one of these for my wife's 2014 Mustang. Installation was pretty easy all things considered. The only gripe I had about it while getting everything setup was the sound for the audio is LOUD. I was able to go into the settings and mess with the equalizer and back the sound off a bit...
I put E85 fuel in the tank when I was at 1/2 tank of regular 87 Octane gas. I didn't notice anything different. I towed my small camper 120miles to my property to go camping last week. The truck performed fine, however, my MPG while towing the trailer was 11mpg.
I had to do the same thing for my wife's 2014 Mustang. The stupid plastic strip disintigrated. I looked for over a year for just the plastic strip with no luck. I had to buy the whole shifter assembly out of a wrecked car. It was in decent shape but not as good as the one already in the car. I...
Congrats on the new to you Raptor! I Bought a used 2014 with 21,800 miles on it last year. So far, it's been an amazing truck and I won't ever be without a Raptor from here on out.
The Raptor does have the ability to be flat towed. There is a process in the owners manual that you have to do with the key and the 4x4 switch.
Oh and welcome to the Forum. I am loving my 2014 Raptor more and more every day!
Oh, couple more upgrades is did. I did the leather cover for the center console, much better than the stock rubber. I installed a metal skid plate under the gas tank. I have a friend that can do some magic with metal fabrication department so he's working on encasing the gas tank and catalytic...
I purchased my 2014 September 2021 with 21,870 miles on it and am at 35,300 miles on it now. Been 100% trouble free. So far I've put a lock box under the left side rear seat, did the fuse 21 relocation, new BFG K02 tires, swapped out all of the interior lights for LEDs, I've changed out the...
There looks like there will be alot more aftermarket support and more tuning options available. Mate the 7.3L with the 10 speed transmission and you'll have a beast.
I have a Retrax on mine, came with it when I bought the Raptor. I really like it alot. The space it takes up at the front of the bed is a bit annoying but there is enough space under the box than I can shove my get home bag and automotive supplies underneath it.
Ive noticed Ebay is your best bet for older car parts. That's where I found a spare set of fox shocks for $400. Screaming deal even though they need rebuilding.
I'll have to look again, but IIRC, I found the flex fuel option in the PCM section. I didn't spend too much time looking through everything so I was just looking for the daytime running lamps and flex fuel.
I also enabled the "dark car" option. I want to turn on the folding mirrors when locking...
So I got Forscan set up on a mini laptop to run through the Raptor options. Main question is, I enabled the flex fuel option. Will I be able to use E85 if I wanted to?
I remember reading a technical post that newer vehicles are all built using E85 safe fuel system components.
Also any useful...
My RNVGs are Green Phosphor with Harris tubes that are Omni-VIII equivalent. My wifes NODs and the Mod3b are surplus Omni-VII tubes. I got a great deal on all those tubes and have a buddy I can get other stuff at wholesale. I prefer to assemble my own stuff and can usually get better performance...
@RLTW let me know what you come up with on the IR lights. I do lots of night vision shenanigans. My primary set of NODs are the RNVGs for me and my wife has a set of the ANVIS configured RNVGs. I have a Mod3b for a backup. I would like to put a set of IR LEDs behid the grill or set up somewhere...
I had a Chevy Silverado extended cab with the low profile ground effects and wide tires that was all the rage in the mid 90's. It was a special order with the 454 and power tune. The original buyer backed out and the dealership put it on the lot for an absolute steal.
I had just came off of a...
