I just got my 18 back after about 23 days in the shop for timing belt tensioner failure. Good stuff.

Parts were supposed to be here Sept 4th. Called dealer on Monday and they said back ordered until Sept 27th now. I asked for a long term loaner and they said they would need to open a case with Ford to get it approved. 3 days later, still no response. I hate driving it like this.

Mine is only when starting cold, everytime. I took a video of it to the dealer, that way I didn't have to drop it off for the engine to cool down.

Considering I already have major engine issues at just 15k miles, I'm glad I bought the extended warranty.

My dealer said it's a certain batch of early 18s that have a bad tensioner. He couldn't be more specific. He also mentioned a new part # came out in July. That's probably the one that is out of stock now.

This rattle sounds awful, like some loose metal. And it only happens on cold start ups. I've had the truck for 15,000 miles now and it just started within the past 2 weeks.

After reading this thread, pretty sure this is the same issue I am having. Loud rattle noise start up when engine is cold. Getting worse. Today it was really loud and it died about 10 times before it would stay running.

For the past few days, my 2018 is making a rattle noise on startup. The noise goes away within a few seconds once the truck is running. Sometimes it's harder to start than other times. Today it was really bad. I backed it out of my garage and put it in gear. It must have died at least 8 times...

Same here. Lived in Texas 12 years now and never had a front plate on any vehicle I've owned. Never had a cop mention either when pulled over for speeding. I park with numerous State Troopers, pretty sure they don't care around here.

Are you in the Austin area? I'd love to see it in person once it's done to see the ride height.

I'm over 40+ but came from a 2012 Raptor that I had for 6 years. Prior to that I had a 2008 Jeep SRT8 for 4 years. Prior to that was a 2004 Ford SVT Lightning.

I only have wheels and bumpers, so I'm with you. Rather it burn and get a new one than try to salvage some burned shell.
