I got mine installed today, it was about 60F where I live today, so there was no option to leave the liners out in the sun to get some additional flexibility. However, it didn't really seem to matter. The install was rather easy if you have a trim removal tool (didn't think about that until I...
Thanks very much for the detailed writeup. I think you're right, and this impacts a lot of people, and Ford won't know for a while how many it actually impacts. I have only had the truck back for 3 days (its actually off getting that light clear bra'd), so I"ll keep an eye out and report back
How bad was the install for the lights?
And just so I understand, you need the harness this individual sells, and then this parts list? Thats everything?
Hmmm, sounds like they have an inclination that they got a bad batch of headlights, and they do not know where the batch begins and ends. The worst part of that is, if they can't find the dates of production of these bad lights, they could end up swapping your bad light with another bad light...
On the paper, it says they duplicated the flicker, swapped in a known good light and there was no flicker. Says they did a PPT on it and gave a list of codes. Replaced the headlight and confirmed good power and ground. That’s all it says from there.
These clicks are interesting. My wife's 2017 explorer sport doesn't do this clicking, neither does my 2018 GT350. Now, the loaner 2020 Explorer I had while my raptor was in the shop also did all this clicking. Honestly doesn't bother me. If it kills the battery, maybe I'll care, but as long...
Got the truck back today after a long, extended turnaround (was getting several issues addressed in addition to the headlight...get to have my vista roof replaced in a couple weeks because my seal is pinched in a number of places). Drove the truck home, pulled into the garage, and there was no...
Update: Truck is still at dealership....Been over a week now. The headlight wasn't the only issue, but its sitting at the body shop and has been there for a while now.
Was there ever an update on this? Also, is there any instructions how to do this swap (including part numbers)? I would really like to add those cup holder lights into my '22.
I actually didn't remove any fasteners, I found their fasteners to be cheap looking and would damage the fender flare.
So for the back, I used the OEM screws, put them back in, and then instead of drilling, put double sized tape to hold it in place.
I believe the raptor has a variable charge system, like the GT350. Its not a standard alternator, the system selections what is supported at different times. I'm not a huge fan of this arrangement, but I understand it.
After putting 300 miles on my truck, and driving several times at an hour or so a direction, I would hope that the charge would be sufficent. However, I've found that the flickering will happen right after coming home from that drive. My dealership is replacing just the driver side headlight...
I appreciate the kind compliment without considering the intention.
My comment was to say that your issue is outside of the headlight concern. A popping stereo could be anything from battery, to audio unit, to fuse to wiring issues.
So, I stated if you were experiencing the popping sound...
Unless you're experiencing the headlight issue, I would recommend starting a new thread so this one doesn't sidetrack, or yours gets accidently overlooked.
I would be interested to see how well it lasts against the northern calcium chloride and brine treatment. Last magnaflow I had started rusting within a year. I've had better luck with Corsa.
When I ordered my 2022 in December 2021, the idea was that it was going to be entirely blue. When it changed over to a blue/black split, I was a little skeptical. However, I'm coming from a 2014 Raptor SE with the red/black seats, so when i saw the blue/black seats in my Atlas blue truck, I...
Mine will do it only when the truck is off. This can be just opening and closing doors, or I can put the truck into Aux, and be playing with the radio or changing settings and it will start flickering out of no where. That flicker will NOT stop until the lights shut off. It should be noted...
