I hear what you're saying K9 EXPERT. With my set up I am right at the limits. The Gen 3 Raptor even at the rated limits feels very solid. Since I assume you have your Raptor already set up as described and the trailer and UTV will be the same whether you tow with the Raptor or a different...
Take a breath Super Heroes. As I mentioned in an earlier post tow rating and payload are the most misunderstood items when it comes to our trucks. And yes the manufacturers do nothing to help clear this up as they always advertise the highest possible values for both regardless of your...
The tow ratings are not inflated just grossly misunderstood by many as one must include payload when determining what can be towed.
It should be noted when a max tow rating is quoted it is typically for a stripped down 2WD version of a truck as this is the version with the highest payload...
Gen 3 has the rear port in the skid for the oil to drop through. My issue is that the oil has to drop down from above the plate such that oil can get onto the top of the plate which cannot be wiped off without removing the two skid plates (second one just thin steel). Plus oil remains up in...
Trying to figure out what the engineer that spec'd out the oil drip catcher for when you remove the oil filter on my Gen 3 was thinking. With the end of the drain trough clearly visible when you remove the access panel in the front skid plate I felt pretty confident I could easily collect any...
Yes a bike pump easily fills the bags as the max air pressure is only 35 psi. With the trailer on the truck and the WD hitch engaged there is still sag (bags show 7 psi) and pumping up the bags to 27 psi raises the rear and eliminates the sag.
What the Air Lift rep said makes no sense to me...
I do not. I have both bags routed to a shared fill valve located near my left rear tow hook. Made a simple little bracket that I could put under an existing bolt. I use a bicycle pump to fill the bags when I need them. The bags hold a relatively small volume of air such that it doesn't take...
I run 5 psi when unloaded and hook up my trailer (5100# camper with about 625# on the hitch) before adding air. I then tighten up my Andersen WD hitch (still no air added) and still have sag. With the trailer on and WD hitch tightened up the psi increases to 7. I then add air to 27 psi and...
I don't have the ability to park my Gen 3 in a garage while in Florida for the winters and am trying to find the best option to protect it from a hail storm. Has anyone found a cover that can protect our trucks from hail?
While I like the idea of a reverse-mirror-tilt feature it seems unnecessary with the 360 camera option where the rear view and bird's eye view images pop up on screen when you put the truck in reverse. I also use the front view and bird's eye view to help when pulling into a parking space but...
As long as you stay within reason which for me is 600# tongue and 5500# trailer the Gen 3 Raptor is an awesome tow vehicle provided you also add the Air Lift 1000 bags to eliminate the squat and use a decent WD hitch. I use an Andersen WD hitch as it performs well and is the lightest option I...
My 2022 only has the Perimeter Alarm. It has group 801A which I thought had an Advanced Security Pack but if I'm correct it appears this item was removed. Thinking chip shortage related? I don't have the interior motion sensors or the inclination sensors. I bought my Raptor off the lot as a...
If you want to tow with your Gen 3 Raptor and don't want excessive rear end squat the Air Lift 1000 bags are the way to go. I'm towing a 5100# 22.5' travel trailer with just over 600# tongue weight. Prior to the air bags with an Andersen WD hitch there was too much rear end squat for my...
The rear bumper on my Raptor is not straight. It's about 1/2 inch closer to the rear quarter panel on the driver's side. Thinking it should be easy enough to straighten myself plus don't want to let my local dealer touch it. Figured I'd do a quick ask for any pointers before I get under the...
I think they are supposed to direct air flow in a manner to improve fuel economy. Since fuel economy wasn't a factor when I bought my Raptor and thinking they would at best have a very small impact on it I had no concerns removing them.
Saw this on YouTube and figured worth sharing. For a slightly more aggressive look the plastic bumper extensions under the lower edges of the front bumper can be easily removed. Two 10mm bolts and a plastic push pin are all that hold them on. Once removed you get a little more tire and...
I like the wider portion up front to possibly add a bit more protection from any thrown rocks.
Also, in regard to the are they installed backwards by mistake question they are marked "L" and "R" on the bottom under the Raptor logo so wider in front seems to be how it's supposed to be. That...
