My dealer was pulling the same crap. Get an allocation and sell it out of territory. They had multiple Gen3’s that had a transport company already in the parking lot to take the truck off the auto carrier and move it out of state. Seems to have bit them in the arse as Ford did not give them a R...
What’s weird about that story is the guy posted the video railing on how fast that trailer was eating up kwh’s and it caught the attention of major media outlets as that is a BIG deal. All of a sudden Ford contacted him and he reversed course indicating he was happy with the performance...
Actually a $150k vehicle. If it wasn’t an option no one would care. Now you get into stupid ADMs and would expect every option you check the box for. Just another reason to hold off for now or look elsewhere. Ford can’t seem to get out of its own way. It’s not like these subs went out of...
There was an article on the predator motor line and how they were hand assembled posted here somewhere. No reason they can’t automate the building of this powerplant. I for one see no value in John Doe’s signature on my motor. Headwinds you’ll face are the other areas of the supply chain that...
I think at this point I’m tapping out. Ford’s lack of transparency, continued push outs and overall lack of customer support are blinding. Even pivoting to a Gen3 seems a tall ask right now as dealers just lost their zones reps and they too can’t get a straight answer. I’m a Ford guy, loved my...
I can see your frustration. Same thing happened to me when I was Land Rover lover with my Disco II. The 283 motor they had in the truck has an oil pump known for blowing out and I learned the hard way that it was a real problem. I ended up getting a new short block after a lengthy back and forth...
It’s my understanding that the dealer Zone Managers we’re all released from their services during the cost reduction initiative a few weeks back (3500 people). These were the folks responsible for allocations. I wonder how the allocations will work now given those relationships are no longer there.
Found the bottleneck:
“And, no longer are there two builders, but one builder supported by several stations along the way prepping various pieces of hardware.”
Automate this and bring 5000 sc v8s to the people…..
Exactly. In a period where worker shortages are abundant they should be leaning into technology to build these motors. What’s the upside to “hand built motors”? I dunno….
I think his angle is if they are producing 3000 v6s and ~ 2200 v8s then why not produce the whole lot of v8s? This would be a non issue with ample supple and transparency from F. Does the TRX come in a 6? It’s a SC v8 at the end of the day. F need to get their supply chain in order.
ESG is certainly entertaining to watch. Companies making decisions to limit shareholder returns in favor of a non-financial cause will begin to have a ripple effect as managers begin to offload those stocks in favor of higher returns. Watch what happens to prices once the true costs for mining...
Imagine waiting 18 months for your lightning after watching Linda Zhang get out of the truck after pulling 20 automotive rail cars, getting the 5 and 6 year olds stoked to go camping and only making it down the road less than 100 miles…. Talk about buzzkill….
