I'm here to rain on your parade.
My truck went into production on October 4th. I picked it up less than a week ago.
I was really excited when it changed to built on October 19th.
Think of the tracker like Lucy placing the football for Charlie Brown.
I am very thankful to not be checked that...
Inflation isn't slowing down soon. Since you ordered, the base price has increased about $4400. I would be shocked if there isn't another increase before your truck arrives.
The ADMs will disappear, but the prices aren't coming down.
As you can see in my profile pic, I came from a Gen 2. I did love my Gen 2, but the Gen 3 has a much nicer interior and is so much smoother to drive.
My Gen 2 could shift hard. Leaving my house, I go up a big hill with a stop sign just over the crest. I felt the 5th to 3rd shift each time...
I was starting to drive off the dealers lot last Wednesday in my truck when the GM ran out and asked the salesman if the recall was done on the truck. I was asked to wait while they checked. A few minutes later, they took the truck from me.
Recall was completed and I was on my way in 45 minutes.
I was in my truck starting to drive off the lot when I was stopped. They had forgotten to do the recall.
45 minutes later, the recall was done and I was out the door.
4 weeks, they're putting you at the back of the line since you're spending the winter somewhere sensible.
I would truck the dealer's tracking estimate over what we see on the Ford tracker.
Doesn't mean that either will be right, but they'll have slightly better info.
I did get mine for MSRP on Wednesday.
The dealer was a little low on the trade in, but after a very brief negotiation, they got it to a point that I considered fair.
There was one add on, $299 for VIN etching. That's something that they add to every vehicle they sell and wouldn't budge on not...
SCABs represented well under 10% of sales. I don't think I've ever seen one in person.
Price isn't the reason Ford dropped them. It's easier to maintain one product over 2. The sales of the SCAB were enough to justify their existence.
I did notice a difference between the Gen 2 and 3 that I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere.
The antenna is shorter. Now, I getca single soft tap entering and exiting the garage. The Gen 2 was thump x 3.
We discussed the recall before the truck arrived, then once the truck got to the dealership, we discussed it again.
However, the folks doing the PDI dropped the ball. I was in the truck about to leave when the GM came running out and check with the saleman to make sure it was done. After...
When I was picking up my truck on Wednesday. I was chatting with the employees at the dealership, they told me their material costs to do an oil change increased $2.73 in January. That's a one month increase and it doesn't look like it's slowing down.
Kind of takes the sting out of not getting my '21 until this week.
Last fall, I did consider cancelling and ordering a '22 or waiting to order a '23. At the rate prices are increasing, the '23s will likely be even more.
Some thoughts...
The transmission is smooooth. There were shifts in my '18 that were very noticeable, with this one, I didn't notice any shifts.
Ford will be replacing a couple of fender flares due to transport damage. I'll get my buffer out and may be able to fix them, the scuffs are very...
Today is the day. 1 day shy of 8 months since ordering and I finally get the truck.
From the pictures that I've seen, it does have all 4 fender flares.
Salesman told me that the sales manager wasn't happy when he was reminded that this is a MSRP deal.
Based on the user names of some others...
