For my Gen 2 & 3, I've had the clearest ceramic tint done to the moonroof. It makes a big difference. In the summer, I still close the shade from 11-7, but it's open the rest of the time.
I'm flying, part of that is financial. I figure that fuel costs each way would be $400 to $500. Then, I'd need a hotel stay along the route each way. So, that would put my travel costs in the $1200 - $1400 range. It would also be 4 full days just for travel.
Instead, I got a plane ticket...
They have done things like that for the Raptor. They ditched the auto-stop/start, cup holder/glove box lighting, and temperature displays on the climate control knobs. There are likely other things that I'm missing.
There is a luck factor. Another poster had his truck go down the line shortly before mine did, he may have even seen my go down the line during his factory tour.
He had his 2 weeks after it was built. After the blend date, it may be 2 week to 6 months before you get it.
I do not miss...
I picked my truck up a month ago, as I was starting to drive off the lot, the GM comes running out to stop me. They had forgotten to do the recall. 45 minutes later, the recall was done and I was on my way.
Just last week, the US started giving various automakers approval for this. I saw that VW was granted permission as well as another manufacturer. Maybe we'll be given that open in an update after Ford's approval.
Wow, I'm sorry about your truck.
You waited so long (patiently or impatiently), then it's gone after such a short time. Even worse, it's not really replaceable.
I'm sure that they would. If not, I would have been seriously pissed at having to wait for 8 months, then the dealer ******** me because I was out of town.
Covert Ford Hutto (just outside of Austin)
The Ford F-150 is popular everywhere in America, but especially in Texas. What's also popular in the Lone Star State are guns. So it'd make sense to combine them for the so-called "complete package." Thing is, firearms sales without a license is...
When mine arrived at the dealership I was told I have 7 days to pick it up or they'd sell it to someone else.
It hit the dealer's website on the day I was picking it up. They had 5 offers before I got there.
I think the GM would have been happier to sell it to someone else, they stuck with...
I was driving into the sun this evening for the first time since I got the truck, there is a perfectly straight crack in the windshield. Couldn't see it until the sun hit it.
I haven't checked the Gen 3 manual, but the Gen 2 manual stated that when in manual, the truck wouldn't prevent you from blowing the engine (paraphrasing). It would prevent you from stalling by downshifting, but wouldn't automatically upshift to protect the truck.
Hail is very hit & miss. Spring time is the worst with the big storms rolling through, but I did see some parts of Texas have had hail in the past couple of weeks.
Worst I've seen was in Lubbock with baseball sized hail driven by 95 MPH winds.
