I’m pretty sure it’s called a brake caliper noise damper, but honestly I haven’t seen one in a while. They might be common in different regions? But I’m pretty sure it has something to do with noise.
Sorry, I see the oil stain now. I could only see those large circular drums sticking off the...
Test fitting the Forged Offroad rear bumpstop kit today. Run out of time today to fully install, but looks really straight forward. The included Strike plates are a nice addition as most kits you need to purchase separately. Will post photos after fully installed.
nice, what rear brace are you going with? I just ordered the rear bump kit from Forged Offroad, price was fair and I wanted the rear setup to match their front bump setup I’m running.
Quick question:
I found a pair of 2.5” fox bumps for $600 cash on offerup. They look to be brand new. I know it’s a good deal compared to new ($379 each) but do you think that’s a decent price for the used market? I know the 2.5s are hard to find but $300 per for used still seems steep.
Any...
gen 1 correct? Did you have to lift the bed off to install? Gonna be installing the Forged Offroad rear bump setup in a few weeks.
also, what PSI are you running/planning to run?
Ended up talking with Forged Offroad and am going with their kit. Overall not super happy about the 2.5” bump stop price tag but Jeff at forged said the 2.5” is the best option for the impacts they receive. Better to be overbuild then under build I guess. Link below...
Thank you for the advice. Plating the frame sounds like a good idea and the bump can support is what I was thinking too. I would take the design queues from what on the market, but use different materials and have the kit welded in instead of bolt on. Gonna play around with some ideas and also...
To confirm, you’re suggesting the OEM rubber bumps would outperform a 2.0 hydraulic bump stop?
As far as buying used, I’m not opposed to the secondhand market. I’ve been watching the garage sale section but only see the Gen 2 rear kits pop up here and there. Rare to find a Gen 1 kit but I’ll...
2.0 air bumps are $380 a pair, steel is $100 in material, bump vans are $80 a pair, fab work is $300. Still about $1000 off the next available kit out there.
Are you planning on mounting them outside of the frame rail similar to available kits?
weighing the options, probably inside frame rail though.
Are you going to cycle the suspension to set the height of the bump?
going to use the rubber bump stop height as a starting point for bump travel...
Hey there, I’ve been talking to a fab friend about making my own rear bumpstop setup. Using pre fabbed pinch style air bump cans and 1.5” DOM tubing as the cross brace. It would not be as robust as the available kits out there for sure, and I plan on using 2.0 bumps instead of 2.5 bumps. But is...
Build looks great. I did the same thing with my 2012. Full suspension swap and added air bumps in the front and ICON leaf park in the rear. Happy with the results, sorry not sorry to all the SVT purists out there. Photos attached:
You would’ve loved my truck but when I upbadged the tailgate with Raptor badge. Haha, maybe I’ll order another one and install just for you.
*full disclaimer, I understand I DO NOT own a Raptor. I do however love the SVT suspension and the aftermarker support for the Gen 1 Raptor. The air bump...
sorry to bother you and you 6.2l fetish. The other f150 forums only care about Rancho shocks and what halogen bulb can be installed to make their OEM fog lights brighter.
My truck is an XLT with a full Gen 1 Raptor suspension swap. No it’s not a Raptor, but it’s also not a spacer lift on 20”...
Got Rock Trix RT111 wheels installed today, really happy with the look. The offset (-12mm) does push the wheels out about 2” further compared to stock. I like the stance now though. Photos below:
