I get the same response with my 100 lb pit. He rides with me with no issues so I dont think its bothering him. Seats up and blanket down and he has a ton of space back there.
This happened to me on thanksgiving morning, picking up my father in law (who is a die hard toyota guy) in my shiny new raptor with 1500 miles, he goes to close the door and it wont latch. He had to hold the door closed until we got to thanksgiving dinner - to which i didnt hear the end of it...

@Blown00gt said it best - while most other trucks are just transportation, these are genuinely fun to drive. You will look for reasons to drive it and it will put a smile on your face. I dont know how well the expeditions ride, i am sure its nice - but these ride really well and you wont have to...
I came from GMC and any time my vehicle needed warranty service, they had a loaner waiting for me and it was always a brand new vehicle. I haven't had the raptor long enough to need anything yet but if I am not provided something to drive while in for warranty work then I would take to a dealer...
i dont notice it - interested to see if someone can confirm that because i keep reading about and listening for it. i think the noise cancelling works very well, the bluetooth calls are very clear.
funny - the manager at this dealer called me about this truck last week. i was looking for a gen 2 a couple weeks ago and they were trying to come up with one. it has to be one of (if not the) lowest mile gen 1 for sale in the country. cool truck
Well it is already snowing in New England so I wanted to test drive the trailer. The sag wasn't as bad as I was expecting with my 4 place hooked up - trailer is 22ft box with 5 foot V so 27 LOA - 7ft wide. Weighs about 2200lbs empty and each sled is approx 500lbs. It certainly went down a bit...
Silverbolt is right. There are three sections to the frame, it is made to be replaced easily. It only calls for 12 hours to replace the rear section of the frame, it lists for $6818 from Ford. Most likely the truck will not total even if you pushed for it.
I would tend to agree with this assessment as I wouldnt want the truck anymore either with a bent frame - although that wasn't what the OP asked :). It sounds like he wants to fix the truck.
The fact the he is still driving this around is what probably makes his insurance company think it is...
PS - this is also no knock on your bodyshop. It is very costly to get certified by Ford for Aluminum work, very few have done so at this point. The investment is 6 figures.
My guess is that since your body shop is not certified by ford for aluminum work (assuming this since he doesnt have their tools,) they wont even talk to him about the parts. I just checked some part numbers in quite a few different parts interchange catalogs. - 100% the same bed part numbers...
The 6.2L's have been pretty well received too - we are low request on them as well. Since the superduty's run them I think they are worked a little harder so they do move a little quicker. The miles are always much higher when I get one in, they seem to always land in a fleet truck somewhere.
FWIW - I work in auto salvage - we sell to the tune of close to $1m a day so I always know what stuff is problematic based on demand. I can assure you that every brand has its issues. We are very low demand on eco-boost engines. Same for the newer 5.0L..... 5.4L's are a much, much different...
Mine just clicked 1k miles - I was a GM guy for a very long time (still have LS powered cars). Last 3 trucks 04 Silverado SS, 09 Denali 6.2, 15 Denali 2500HD. I cant see myself ever wanting to own a different truck than another Raptor. I haven't had this much fun driving in a while. If it holds...
unfortunately, now i have to tear my truck apart this weekend after reading this thread!!!
Of all things with these trucks being so good, the b&o stereo is just unimpressive. I came from a 16 Denali with Bose and it would blow this system away. though it looks like a simple enough upgrade. Are...
I tried to give a sense of light output here against my shed which is probably a good 50 feet away - together with the factory lights they compliment each other very well.
Amber only
Cubes only
HLPs - low beam only
HLPs Low beam + Cubes
HLPs High beam + Cubes
I got my kit my yesterday and installed last night. I went with the KC C3s with the KC Flex in the corner in amber. The Flex is on AUX 1 and the Cubes are on AUX 2. It looks awesome, I am super happy with it and the install is very easy. I was impressed, especially to be able to use the factory...
I am in MA - I took delivery on mine Wednesday. Was able to get under MSRP but not much. I must have called 10 dealers anyway and not many were willing to go under MSRP. Any that were had a deposit already. Some people still asking $5k-$10k over still which I dont get.
I think it was Denooyer...
