Mine has been on for 20 months !!!!! Was told by a different installer that the surface needs to be at least sprayed off with water every week or so, not to let dirt set on the truck for to long!

When mine went out the switch light stayed on......Most of the time its the connecting wire from the seat to the back rest heating elements that shorts out.

Have them mounted more towards the rear to keep the debris off of the rear shocks, etc. One thing I did do was cut them down to 13 1/2" overall due to them dragging on the ground. Overall happy with the level of protection they provide.
