I did know what you meant because there is a big difference between cast iron and cast steel. Like you, I'm not an expert but I do know that the process of welding cast iron and cast steel are very different assuming it's at all possible or advisable.

I do. And as such I am doing my best to minimize weak links. The spindles are a weak point and if one of them breaks at best you're going to destroy a good portion of your suspension and fender...at worst you will lose complete control of the truck. And die.
Ok so new spindles with TIG welded SDHQ gussets are en route. I also upgraded to the SDHQ tie rods with double shear spindle mount. I think this will be one hell of a heavy duty solution for the Raptor's steering components and IMO a necessity if you're going to off-road hard. I will plan to do...

If you remove the seat from the truck you can take the seat bottom off and have a go at it. You just need to remove the leather cover and you can access the heating pad. The only complication you might run in to is the heating pad is glued to the foam seat cushion. It might be tough to remove...
