New guy, SC, ‘14, 1st Raptor, graphics question

Great looking truck and welcome. Looks expensive. And check on Fuse 27 on YouTube as this is a common problem with Gen 1's. Easy fix. I'm for the hood graphic not only because glare is lessened driving into the sun, but also being an 18 wheeler owner operator, I can tell by the graphic when a...

GEN 1 Fire Extinguisher in the cab

Thanks @BlacknTan , I wasn't aware of this style extinguisher. YouTube shows JayLeno. Seems like these would be good for in home use also.

    Getting new tires

I have the same wheels on my 2014 special edition like yours. I had my tires changed at a tire shop I do business with and they very carefully replaced my tires WITHOUT removing the rings. I watched and they took their time and did it with no scratches. It may be safer to remove them, but it...

I thought it did that only when I farted. You DON'T want that recirculating. LOL

    FIVE GEN 1s for sale

I bought a white one from Facebook Marketplace for 11.00 just to find out the seller had it shipped to me straight from Amazon. 7.00 or 4/24.00. Live and learn.

    Possible new owner

I bought mine from Texas with 136K miles and no sign of rust anywhere. Might want to consider shopping down south.

    Gen 1 Purchase Advice

Just a reminder. Check Fuse 27. Easy fix but it will leave you stranded, if you buy it. Not a reason to pass on a purchase.

Kinda of a Dream come true

Nice truck. Looks like an electric bed cover like my '14 came with. I love the convenience of a push button. I don't think I would flush the tranny. We did our Lexus years ago and it lasted about 2 weeks before we had to rebuild it. When I purchased my F150, the transmission shop told me...

    Driveway Parking Tips

I do cover mine AND park it under a carport. I don't use mine on a daily basis. If you get a cover, be sure to get an 85 inch wide. I ordered one for a Raptor but they sent a standard F150 cover which is only 70 inches wide and it didn't cover. 85x233 works well.

    Joined the Raptor family!

My first thoughts are "What a nice WIFE" and the truck is nice also. I have one of those "What do you need that for?" type. My Raptor is also red (2014 special edition). Sounds like you've made 2 good choices in your life so far. Keep up the good work and welcome.

    Tune up pricing

I don't know if RockAuto is available where you are, but I spent $142 on plugs and wires, $742 on ignition coils in March.

2 Many Pictures of Another River Trip

The head on shot with the front of your Raptor and the sky in the background should be on a Raptor brochure. Almost makes me want to buy a blue one instead of my Ruby Red. Great photo!!!

GEN 1 Wrench Icon, Advance Trac, Powertrain and more...

Disclaimer: I'm not a mechanic. My wife's Mercedes diesel had a bad MAF sensor issue and it would take about 90 seconds to get to 55mph. An actual mechanic said sensors (has 2) were bad. $1500. Instead he cleaned them, recalibrated, and sent me on my way $130. I bought new sensor assembly on...

    2010 ignition coil issue

I recently had the exact same problem on my '14 with 136K miles. Whenever I buy a new to me vehicle, I change filters, oil, plugs, etc so that I know where I stand. I (3rd owner) contacted the prior owner via the title from the dealership and learned the plugs were changed by the original owner...

    Lightweight, Quiet, Road-centric All-Terrain Tires

I bought my Raptor because I like the looks over anything out there. I'm not planning on offroad and in Louisiana, snow is unheard of. I bought the truck from Ft Worth with Nitto Terra Grapplers and the whole 515 mile ride home I complained about the road noise and vibration through the steering...

    GEN 1 Recon Headlights

I'm old also. My '14 SE has the 801A HID's and I absolutely love them. Not only do they light up the night, but they also do not blind oncoming traffic or shine in trucker's mirrors. Being an owner operator, I'm on the roads quite often in the dark. Nothing worse than having some vehicle behind...

Is fuse 27 swap really necessary?

I bought my '14 SE with 136,288 miles and drove it from Dallas to Independence, La., about 515 miles, one stop for fuel, one more for lunch. No problems. The next day, while "testing it out" on 2 lane country highway, it cut out after accelerating to 85 mph. A large yellow wrench appeared on my...

    Bed cover

I bought my '14 Raptor 3 months ago and it came with a PaceEdwards brand. While mine is all remote controlled electric which auto locks in whatever position you choose, that $2400 (internet website) is more than you want to spend. They had lower priced models, all aluminum or alloy I think, and...

Just realized your way is so much easier. He created an album or something, and then uploaded from there and ..... It's fun being old, until it comes to technology.
