I have the non-CF version and i scratched it. I put some clear bra over the entire lid and they disappeared. I don't know how bad your scratches are though, if the clear bra will hide the scratches.

I don't believe there is a TSB for IWE, IWEs have been problematic since Ford started using them. I know some members carry extra valves in their trucks. I've got 26k on my 2017 and haven't had any issues yet. (knock on wood) You can also do an IWE delete if you don't want to continue to replace...
I'd have to call a ford dealership to ask what repair procedures are but based off the estimating system, the whole cab would have to be replaced. But it depends on how badly damaged the firewall is. My recommendation, if the truck doesn't total and you wish it would, is to trade it in as soon...
I'm just saying, I don't trust a shop throwing out numbers that high without a tear-down first. Sounds like they are trying to get rid of the truck so they don't have to work on it. I could be wrong though. Either way, Insurance has final say.
