For the 2013's (at least for mine), both lines had to be cut. You will see that the hard line is crimped onto the hose (rather than screwed into the hose, like the hoses you are replacing them with). That is the reason for cutting the hardline in the first place. If you are able to unscrew the...
I have an update on these sway bar links. I accidentally put them through a pretty good beating because I forgot to remove one of the links before making the offroad trip from Minden to Las Vegas. I hit jumps, whoops and articulated the suspension in probably every way possible at speed. My...
I suppose I could write a long story about that, but we will have to save that for another day. Remember, if they don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
The sway bar just remains in place and stays static when you remove the links. The rubber around my sway bar keeps it in place. But technically you only need to remove one sway bar link and can leave the other connected if the sway bar is loose within the rubber mounts.
As you note running one...
Summary
I made a quick release sway bar link for a Gen1 Raptor. This project spanned over three months and involved a bit of trial and error. The following story will provide a detailed account of the process I went through and the information I gained along the way.

This is not a professional event or sanctioned Raptor run. I am just someone looking to escape to the dirt for a few days. I welcome anyone who would like to join, but please know that this will not be as fancy as the guided runs done by the pros in the Raptor community. There are currently...
Can you send pictures of the axle and shock? Pics around the shock to lower control arm and the top of the shock at the bucket would be helpful. Also if you have a pic of the wear that is happening that would be helpful too.
It looks like Tasca offers a better deal on the new Motorcraft steering rack when compared to RockAuto (both have a $400 core).
$1,072.01 - Tasca
$1,274.79 - RockAuto
I am usually all in for cutting/grinding/welding things to fix them, but given that the alignment of the LCA is directly impacted by the section that is folded, I think you may have to get some shop support with alignment equipment to pull this out correctly.
That said, KHC makes a slot delete...
@itoito06, this is super helpful. Thank you!
To close the loop on my situation, I ended up getting a direct replacement from Kartek. The part numbers were FKBWSSX16T for the uniballs and KTK9044SR for the snap rings. I had planned on installing them next weekend with this tool I picked up at...
I would be interested in what the entire valve body cost as well. @Vash is there a part number you could provide?
I found this option https://streetsmarttransmission.com/remanufactured-6r80-valve-body/. Has anybody heard of this or had experience with a remanufactured valve body?
Thank you TomDirt! The race maps are super helpful.
I don't know about the Barstow Del Taco, but I will make the pilgrimage. Should I plan to be around a restroom shortly after? :)
I am looking to take a trip to Barstow and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on trails or have any trail maps they would like to share.
Thanks!
I tried calling Rogue Racing today to buy a uniball rebuild kit for my Rogue UCAs. I was told that Rogue was out of business and that the company answering the phone (something like Ford Truck Accessories) is taking their business over.
I was surprised that they went out of business, so I was...
It sounds like you may need to look into servicing your jack. A gen1 should generally be around 1500lb per corner (front being heavier than the rear). But if you have a 3-4 ton jack, and it doesn't lift a corner, I think it may be time to swap the fluid and check the seals (or buy a new one).
I...
I posted this a while ago, but I am still really happy with these jack stands. It is super for rear suspension work.

There will be a little bit of everything on this route. There are sections that have whoops that would rattle anything not secure off the truck if you hit it at speed, but if you take it slow over the terrain it wouldn't be too much of a problem. There are a couple jumps that you would likely...
