We left in 1976...I was just a teenager at that time, but I’m glad we never looked back. Now I dread every time I drive through to get to Maine. One trip I even went from Pittsburg PA straight up and through Canada just to avoid NY, CT, and MA all in one shot!
Went to WallyMart for a few items to stock up and found a small roll of 3M red tail light film. I liked the semi-translucent quality and a darker red than the vinyl I have seen others use for the Vent SVT mod. Sorry for the pic quality, I took this in the late afternoon and shaded by the house...
Yes, I was concerned about the wrap not being OD or a matte finish and somewhat glossy to match the original paint. If I do it again I going with a satin or matte wrap. I didn’t think of spraying a finish coating on the wheels since this was a test. Considering to powder coat the wheels if I...
Sure...I fit a ton of stuff, in addition to the above I have a full size long farm jack back there. I did my own mod to open the latch. I drilled a small hole on the pin and ran a split ring on it. Then I tied a paracord to the ring and loop tied to the head rest stem. Easy to open and full access.
I might be getting carried away with matching my color scheme. Kinda sorta like your wife waiting to use a purse until she finds the right color heels, I digress.
Anyway, I’m thinking about painting my bead lock wheels olive drab to color match my Army desert digital camo wrap. ¿What do ya...
I have the same issue now...I had a nice rig in my FX4 before for running forest roads in northern ME (Cobra 29 and a big Mag mount whip) then for my Beast and expedition adventures, I set up a amateur rig, (ICOM ID5100A and a Diamond dual ant on my canoe rack) works great. So, now I’m torn...
Just guessing (assumed that the GEN 2 shocks are longer than the GEN 1s) ¿So running say 3+ Deavers and an extended say a 2+ shackle, will net you a longer useable travel than a stock set up on the GEN 1?? ¿Effectively increasing your travel length without needed an aftermarket kit?
Lower for un-lifted upper for lifted. Mine took three quarts to start flowing out of the stock fill hole. So I will check after I drive a bit around town the cover lower hole. Let you know. Been raining cats and dogs this week so just sheltered in place. Hahaha
Did not find a whole lot of write ups on this on the FRF as to acquiring a new set recently, mostly opinions as to use or not use, etc.,... so I will ask again and bring up for further discussion.
What I have found so far;
1. Ford has discontinued 2013-2014 True OEM bead locks?
2. Can not find...
Another of the shelter in place project series; After going over various commentary on the different available Diff covers I went with the Spicer Performance version. Taking into account, function/correct shape, design/engineering, strength/improvement, cost and of course looks...
PS; I...
Very cool find, always looking for the old lady owner groceries getter...Yes mine I got lucky also...like I have stated before, I picked up mine that was Ford Dealer owner and was their marketing and showroom truck. No off-road use at all.
When I was looking around found several black ones in So FL. Curious, where did you get yours and $$? If you feel comfortable stating? I found the FRF about two years before I finally found my NOS dealership owned 2014 Beast.
Nothing spectacularly great, but I did rotate the tires and flushed out and added in new DOT 4 brake fluid. We got a sudden rainstorm pouring down with hail, so tomorrow I will check the lugs with the torque wrench manually and compare them to my new toy, a Milwaukee 1/2" HT impact wrench with...
I have a GEN 1. ¿I'm guessing the dimensions between the tow hooks are the same, for a GEN 1 vs GEN 2? And if not, couldn't tell from the pic, but are the pucks adjustable? I also have a Toyota LC FJ60 that coincidentally, I added a set of Tow hooks same location from a 2004 Expedition we had...
I would start with CarFax. You can also contact the original dealership that sold the truck originally and you can ask nicely for a printout of dealership actual work done.
