    News on the new Raptor

If you screw it up properly, you'll go 300-400 miles without being anywhere close to a gas station in certain sections of Baja. I have never seen a 7/11 in Baja. Usually, it's an Oxxo and they don't normally have gas pumps. If you want to make an EV work to go offroading south of the border...

    News on the new Raptor

those suspension travel numbers are for 35s. The package with 37s is 13"/14" respectively. My SVC mid-travel equipped truck cycles 17.5" front and 22" rear. So, tell me... 13 = 17.5 and 14 = 22 right? Not to mention, The shock package on a mid-travel truck DESTROYS what comes on a...

Basic Needs for an Off-Road Expedition for a Daytrip

beyond everything else that was mentioned. a garmin inReach, especially if you are choosing to roll solo. Zip ties. ( the biggest ones that they have at home depot) Duct tape. Various sizes of hose clamps. at least, that's what I end up "lending" to folks the most.

    Raptor R engine thoughts

I'd love to see this for no other reason than to thumb the nose at the TRX easter eggs showing a Trex next to a Raptor... Oh a T-Rex? how cute. I have... under my hood. suck it dodge.

Raptor R - Will you be buying this beast.

an FPC would be a hilariously bad choice for a heavy offroad truck. Even the racecar versions of the gt350 were CPC. Turbos? okay, but not ideal for a desert truck V8 either. an FPC motor would be the least reliable option and it would make it a complete SLUG out of the hole.

    Cool things about Gen3

perhaps once I get myself relocated later this year. Unfortunately, Louisiana doesn't really have terrain that is up to even getting my shocks warm, so it probably wouldn't be that interesting. Plus, I'd need party pals with different suspension setups to show the differences.

    Equal length mid pipe exhaust

I've already patented my retrofit version of the "trombone exhaust" for Gen2 trucks. I call it "the butt trumpet". I'll start taking preorders next week. :angels2:

    Cool things about Gen3

You ever enjoy the look on someone's face when they're driving a linked truck and you blow past them on leaf springs? All it takes is tuning. Leaf springs are more durable and less maintenance. If you tune the suspension properly, they arent a disadvantage. the 5 link will be easier for a...

2021 Raptor info on Motor Trend

I think you'll find if you look closer, there is much less "bucking". The linked rear is also going to put power down way better and help with control int he rough stuff. you'll be able to settle the rear with throttle inputs much easier in the gen3 trucks. you have to drive a gen2 differently...

Raptor R - Will you be buying this beast.

the only reason that I'd buy one is if I decide to back half and motor swap my gen2. I'll need something to drive while the gen2 is under the knife. Plus, I think it would be fun to experience baja in a stock truck again.

All-New Ford F-150 Raptor Will Debut Feb. 3

all i'll say is, try doing what they did in the video, just in your gen2. ( the rear will feel like it is on a pogo stick) Much like the s550 mustangs, it looks like ford spent a TON of time on the vehicle dynamics. i didn't see any bucking and the rear of the truck looks VASTLY improved...

New owner of 2010 raptor rollover victim

They are wider than stock f-150s. As long as the center section is good, a re-tube isn't that bad. if the brakes are good, a replacement from currie will run you around 4 grand USD. I'm interested in following your adventure. good luck!
