I had to bite my tongue. Couldn't find a decent picture of my '14 STX work truck alongside my '13 Raptor but...it's night and day, they aren't even in the same ballpark. '09-'14 F150's in every trim were not easily mistaken for Gen1 Raptors. IMHO at least, when they were both out there you...
Those things are priceless and it looks good but...how are you going to get a spare in/out (and over that light bar without f'n it up?)? Just hulk it over the side?
Same here, there was a thread a while back from the guys that did the DIY shock rebuild thread, they got a donor rack or two but it didn't pan out. Not sure if you need some special tools like a transmission or if it's just not easy/feasible to tear down...maybe the wear parts weren't readily...
Love these pics.
#3 addendum, in NM they were a lot of oilfield roads, ranch roads, and just random two-track that really made you wonder haha! Especially around Carlsbad, there's two-tracks that must date back to wagon days because no sane person would cut straight across hills literally...
There's a loaded question hahaha! Not based on that particular kit but my own...
SHOULD (if you don't already have of course):
Alignment cams for all four LCA pivot bolts, or even better KHC/whoever slot eliminator
Stainless brake lines, fresh brake fluid, maybe set of Speed Bleeders
Left...
Nice!!! I agree LED's unnecessary as the phone will tell you. Does it just plug into the USB or lighter power inside the console? Any plans for a tiny seat belt for the phone?
That's great you found the problem, appreciate the update I'm going to have to check mine too haha!
@drok223 mine will refuse to remote start and just honk at you if there's any codes active lighting up check engine, or even the low tire pressure tire I think. And yes the door/lock actuators...
Oh suuuure. Eluminator is just 4 weeks out for delivery. Just need traction inverter (WTF is that?), control system (sounds suspiciously chippy, as in "chip shortage"), and battery (good thing you have a 5.5' bed, yer gonna need it for like seventeen group 27's so you can make it to the...
About 30k for both, that helped immensely! Since then I think the LCA pivots work loose on mine, even with SPC cam nuts/bolts. Solid LCA pivots and adjustable UCAs would be nice, will invest in those someday…
Was using hi-temp, Mystik Red for the little needle bearing and the CV teeth. Grease gun had white in it so I slathered a bit on the teeth, probably wasn't necessary...
Really not that bad, I didn't replace them when I rebuilt the shocks 3-4 years ago so figured might as well this time. The rubber insulator looked good, not stiff or dried out, and I still don't know why there's a bearing in the shock hat, it's not like the shock shaft is spinning, but it too...
@Sage this is what I meant by zip tie standoff, used to do these a lot on quads along tubular a-arms when there were no tabs for brake lines. It's just a short hose, like 1/4" vacuum line or 3/8" fuel line or whatever, then run the zip tie through it, around the hose, and back through the hose...
Got halfway done today, supposed to be nice outside so the other side will get done tomorrow. Out with the old factory spring:
In with the RCV IWE delete:
Bagged and saved the stock IWE, removing the lines I discovered my problem, one of the LH top shock nuts pinched the vacuum line last time...
