    The shim is cast with a built-in depression on the highest (thickest?) edge, and flat on the other side. Interesting.. I bet the reason it's cast like that is to not run out of threads, so that it should be placed facing up.

    ^^^those are Raptor-specific items to look for. If you are shopping for a used Mercedes, look for the turn signal arm that has never been used, dry cleaning receipts and Starbucks lids under the seat, and water stains on the dash where the owner cried after seeing his lease payoff.

    Sounds like you're a DIY'er. How do you get the fresh 13qts back in the trans? Through that silly 2" long "fill tube" that Ford cleverly placed at the lowest spot, right next to the flesh-searing Catalytic Converter?

    Make it harder to steal. The worst thing a Raptor owner can do is bolt on visible things that give scumbags more reasons to steal it, but neglect making it difficult to take. Oh, and let's see the back. Does it have a dovetail cut & tube bumper like the front?

    That's what mine looked like at 148xxx miles, . Lower 8 all had oil, upper 8 were all dry, but I'd be guessing if they were original or not.

    Finishing up a new P-side turbocharger and coolant lines on the 2012 3.5 ecoboost first. Next, finish the last 900' of 1200' of fence brackets (to keep the Huskies in).... THEN it's back to the Raptor project.

    Steve Martin did a SNL sketch where he played a typical "Ugly American" tourist in Europe. Whenever he wasn't understood he proclaimed " I guess I didn't speak LOUD ENOUGH". That's actually pretty good advice right there.
