There's got to be some rental car outfit that could let you live with a G2 Raptor for a week and see if it actually suits you. I should have waited and found a way to rent both a G1 and G2 to compare living with them.

The local independent alternator place rebuilt mine in 48hrs for around $200 last year. Their cost for the rebuild kit was prolly under $40.

They don't quote suspension travel in inches, they use maximum degrees of articulation.

Somebody shopping specifically for a Gen 1 is probably an all-cash or mostly-cash buyer in 1 of 2 categories: the guy who has Dreamed of owning one for years, and the impulse buyer, who just wants it Now. Try and discern which one it is asap, and then proceed accordingly.

This is the Trackmotive Heavy-duty Raptor CV axle. It's the Driver side but RockAuto has them both in stock, and there's no "Raptor Tax" on them.

Judging by the rust on my 2012 3.5 ecoboost, I can keep the steering knuckles for it. But the rest I no longer need.
