I ran the stock pump with my Roush for about 30k miles with a 75mm pulley and larger throttle body. When I decided to go full headers and 69mm pulley I also went to the Melling oil pump. Will the stock one hold forever? Maybe. But if it goes it's taking the motor with it, and that's a lot...
Agreed on IWE. Also, recent shock installation makes me suspect a loose axle nut. Check axle nut torque (lock-tite!!) , check IWE vacuum - both the IWEs holding vacuum as well as the vacuum lines. Check both sides, the problem can actually be the opposite side. Ask me how I know.
Is there any identifying information on that letter? I've been having these issues on all doors other than the driver's side front door. It's seemingly random and inconsistent, but it would be sweet to get it covered. I haven't received a letter. I'll have had my truck 10 years at the...
Gauge? I know most are circular, but I have a rectangular air pressure gauge about that size in my Jeep. Looks like this: https://www.phoenix-tuning.com/ody-19-1/
I typically spend around $700 or so having my shocks rebuilt locally. I did pick up a second set though (found a stupid deal on them) - makes it much easier to rotate through since the rebuild typically takes a week or two and the truck is dead in the water without them. That reminds me, I'm...
I actually rigged up a boost gauge (that also shows vacuum) connected to my IWE line to monitor that vacuum since this has been an issue in the past. Of course now that I have that gauge, as well as a new set of silicone lines ready to go in, I haven't had any vacuum loss or IWE issue. So in...
4H not causing it is SUPER suspicious. It can still be IWE - just not vacuum related. Have you checked your axle nuts? A loose axle nut will cause this. Did you replace your IWEs with all of the other stuff listed above?
I have a 2012 Supercharged Roush - supercharger added at 50K miles. I haven't had any of the issues above, though I did blow out two factory cats and a factory exhaust manifold before going to a full Kooks exhaust. Changing the oil on the SC isn't too bad, but it's a bit annoying. You have to...
Had the exact same thing happen on the same side. I think my speaker was also out for a while without me noticing. It was the door alarm that attracted my attention. I patched it back together. I'm sure I'll be in there again some day. It just looks like the opening/closing of the door...
If you have to ask if it's an IWE... it's probably an IWE. As stated above, does it go away in 4H? I've replaced those damned things so many times.
It's probably an IWE.
Good luck getting the old one out. The new one will fail in the same way, they rust through and break leaving part of the tube stuck. This is a common problem. I replaced mine with a nice Lokar when it happened to me.
Did you drive it after replacing the sensor or just start the truck? I had the same sensor go out on my 2012, but it was throwing a "Check Brake system" or something like that light, no actual CEL codes. I pulled the sensor out of an old wheel bearing I had kept (pull these sensors and keep...
Haven't needed a slide hammer on mine, maybe just some swearing. As far as IWE, if they aren't acting up (yet) I probably wouldn't. If you've got money to burn, well, super simple while you are there. You can also consider replacing your wheel bearings since those wear out. Also super simple...
My only improper ABS experience was due to a bad wheel sensor - but I had a warning on the dash about check brakes or something - no actual code my ODB2 could read. When I was breaking under normal conditions the driver's side ABS would randomly trigger. Fancy dealer computer was able to tell...
It is not - I've had to mess with it too many times. A touch of loctite is always a good idea on this bastard. It likes to come loose and shouldn't be torqued down hard - something like ~35 pounds if I recall. Don't quote me, but it's not a lot.
