Yeah, I'd had the flush done. I want to say it was something like $200 or so.
Here's a tip, if you are doing the pan, you are going to lose most of your fluid anyway. See if the dealer will just put the new pan on instead of the old one since they have to do that anyway during the flush...
I just re-used my existing dealer installed filter. I had had my tranny serviced at the dealer earlier that year anyway, so I said EFF it. The filter wasn't very old.
I installed my AFE last year. Zero issues other than the transmission filter the Ford dealership gave me didn't fit with the extension that comes with the pan. The filter was obviously different, so either it was the wrong one or Ford changed it. The pan itself was a simple install.
IF you want to have some fun, check out the North Sand Hills - about an hour outside of Steamboat. I have a ton of fun there. I'll be heading up there at the end of June. It's not so much trail as much as sand romping. There are some trails too though. I camp there.
Welcome to the pain club. I'm replacing mine for the umpteenth time soon. This time with the upgraded RCV rings. We'll see.
I'm seriously considering installing a vacuum gauge to monitor just the vacuum in the front IWE lines.
I started with the hidden winch mount and it worked fine. Now that I have an aftermarket bumper of my choosing I'd recommend just going straight to the bumper you like. Think about lighting too if it's a concern of yours.
It's my understanding that air in the system can do this. Do you have one of those radiator funnel things (no idea what they are called) that you can use to remove the air?
Winch. Always a winch. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Winch. I've used the crap out of mine. Sometimes to free myself, sometimes to free other people. I've winched my own Jeep out of a bind and used my Jeep to winch myself out of a bind.
Did I mention to...
It's fairly water tight. My only real issue was when a drain came loose during a rainstorm. I got some luggage wet, but it still wasn't terrible. In general, even in a car wash it stays fairly dry. I recommend a little sealant where the drains clip in since the little plastic clips aren't...
I haven't looked at Black Widow, but I already have a Magnaflow that I'm happy with if I don't want to go with the Kooks true dual. In the case I can just go the Y-pipe route to my existing Magnaflow. I just figure I probably get more flow out of the true dual.
Whoa. It's always hard to tell over video, but those headers definitely change things.
I'm just worried about making the truck too loud (and mostly about pissing off the wife).
