    60,000 Mile Checkup

Damn, mine at 60,000 : - brakes were done all the way around, not much left - upper ball joints were toast, massive slop in both sides - leaking rear axle seal - 2 of 4 shocks leaking I need to slow down or something.

Icons or fox for cold weather ?

What kind of an improvement though ? I realize they're tougher, but I've never broke one or heard of anyone who has. There is more theoretical travel before bind with the aftermarket ones, but do we actually require that before the shock limits travel ? Birdman's reason, for widening the...

Icons or fox for cold weather ?

You bet, sdhq hooked me up :smoke2: Very pleasant to deal with. USPS was roughly five bills, but it beats the hell out of the brokerage that those ups pirates would have hit me with... Now I'm trying to decide if I need me some adjustable upper a-arms. It's a slippery slope...

Icons or fox for cold weather ?

I bit the bullet and ordered the icons through sdhq. Don't know that they're a better performing shock than any of the others, but they seem to be the most "complete" setup for the raptor. Adequate rear shock protection from the shin guards, coil over wraps available, aggressive bump zone in...

Icons or fox for cold weather ?

Man there's some silliness involved with this subject. Maybe I'll just rebuild the stockers or wait to see which goes on sale first... Depressing that there's not more objective opinions out there.

Icons or fox for cold weather ?

Not handy here, but the dealer had no problem fetching them. They're a common failure point around here, lots of gravel and sand on the roads during the winter. And big 3" crush rock on lease roads during the summer. Lots of raptors here in oil country, the dealers are better prepared to...

Icons or fox for cold weather ?

Thank you for the actual input. :happy160: That kind of puts both on an even more level playing field. I know you all have your favourites, and there's alot of fanboy nonsense surrounding the topic, but I'm looking for actual hard use data from those that have used them in colder...

Icons or fox for cold weather ?

As the subject states, which ones work better in the cold canadian winters ? Not just from a durability standpoint, but also which deal better with the square edged stuff common to packed snow cover ? My stockers are finally giving up after 105,000 Kms, so I'm in the market for some...

    Stage 3 ride difference?

The difference is very noticeable, especially on square edged bumps, potholes, washboard, etc. It makes the rear "smoother" than the front. And it feels much more planted at speed in the dirt. It was a bigger difference than I expected actually.

RPG Stage 3 Installation Write up from a Non Mechanical Dude

You did have the trucks weight on the rear axle when you tightened everything up, right ? If you still had it jacked up when you cinched everything down, it'd sit up like that. I did mine solo, it was not fun.

    MBRP... Any complaints?

Crew cab it bolts right up, super easy, fits perfect. A 15 minute job. The scab needs to have a bit of pipe cut off the intermediate pipe. The measurment is in the instructions, and that end of the pipe goes into the muffler with a slip fit and muffler clamp. Super easy install either way...

2013 Bullrun Rally - 2012 Raptor SCrew Build

Where's it end though Greg if you go with lower profile street tires, rear swaybar, etc. ? If you're doing the speed thing with the custom driveshaft, you might as well lower it too and go all the way with the suspension. But in the end, it's all been done before. And probably been done...

    Raptor shocks on f150

What makes the raptor what it is, isn't the shocks, a-arms, steering rack, off road mode, etc. It's the integration, balance and tuning of those components and features. It all works seamlessly together, creating a truck that handles exceptionally well. You cannot 100% recreate what the raptor...

Snow doughnuts = burning rubber smell??

Wilson is 100% right on this one. The stability control is never completely off, even in offroad mode and the long button press. The stability sytem is still on the brakes at very (very) large yaw angles. Like in donuts. If you didn't even put it in offroad mode, just disabled t/c, the...

A drill and tap for remounting the exhaust hangar on the frame brace. The holes don't often line up.
