Great to hear. This leads me to my next question regarding Raptor seats. Have most of you who've owned Raptors for years noticed any instances of Raptor seats losing "cushion bounce" after normal wear and tear?
I'm just wondering if these seats are robust enough to hold up after 5+ years...
Wow Ruby, thanks for sharing. So did you feel sore and "sick" of sitting in the Platinum after long road trips? I always figured/assumed trucks in general would be more comfortable and conducive for road trips than sedans.
David
I agree. I've confirmed this with a person very knowledgeable about Raptors at my dealership.
I was told the Raptor shared the same cab as the regular F-150, but that was where the similarities ended (aside from the tail light and head light assemblies).
So even though the Raptor has the...
I agree that the Raptor seats are extremely comfortable to drive in. Most comfortable of any other ride I've been in.
Did the Raptor share the same type of seats in the regular F-150s? It would only seem logical for the same comfy seats to be shared across the Ford trucks.
I'm just wondering...
I absolutely agree that it looks badass. I've said this to others "Ford really did a great job with the Raptor."
It's a unique looking truck that is refinely intimidating and personifies fun more than work.
My wife dislikes trucks but even she says on her own admission that the Raptor looks...
So is the so-called "Harmonics" or rolling gallop a normal thing for stock SCREW Raptors? I do notice the rolling gallop going over speed humps in my neighborhood.
My truck is just under 40K miles currently. Suspension still rides nicely.
I called my local dealer service dept and asked them whether a shock rebuild in the future would be covered under my extended plan. They told me that as long as it's an OEM component, it will be serviced and rebuilt...
Do you have a tuner on your truck?

So using the cruise control actually hurts the mpg on Raptors during long distance trips?
I most certainly would use cruise control when we go on a road trip...
Based on your post, I would say I'm even more of a conservative than you when it comes to Raptors. I have never been a truck person (although that's changed after realizing how nice it is driving a Gen 1) and the only truck I ever wanted was a Raptor.
So a couple of months ago, I traded in...
Hey thanks for explaining. I'm glad to learn/hear that generally speaking, the HID headlamps are reliable for the "life" of the raptor. That is one part I would not want to have to replace.
David
This is not a "problem" but a question. I like the OEM HID lights on the raptor, but have any of you heard or experienced them failing or going out? According to the extended warranty "Not Covered Items", HID assemblies fall under that category.
I have never experienced stock HID lamps...
How do the Ford 4wd systems compare to Toyota and Chevy? Sorry...I am just not well versed in this knowledge.
Do other makes have issues with 4wd systems as well?
Ok, so do I need to always set it to Neutral first before switching to 4L or 4H? Or just simply keeping my foot on the brake and switching would be fine?
