Drove up to @Gumby ‘s and replaced all four shocks with my original shocks I had rebuilt. Had them done in less than three hours and enjoyed the company! @Bozz did an excellent job supervising, LOL! Rides like new again. It was a great meet up (aka man date) but I now need a shower as I got...
I’m a pretty hands on kind of worker so this will be interesting. My plan is for @Gumby to observe me work and be on stand by to thump me in the back of the head when I do something wrong. LOL! (Like my Dad use to do to me when I was younger and he was teaching me how to wrench.) It’s been...
@Gumby I’ll PM you my contact info so we can get something on the books. My schedule is pretty open at the moment. I checked and meet all the requirements from @The Car Stereo Company, so no worries there. LOL, now if we can just coordinate @Bozz to supervise and ensure everything goes smoothly...
I have my rebuilt shock sitting in my garage and was wondering how I can schedule this shock replacement “man date”? Is there a prerequisite like bring beer (except Bud Light) or requested spirits? Is there a hazing ritual? I’m in Nashville quite a bit as it’s just over an hour away. I’m just...
If you don’t replace the seal it will start to seep, if you do it may not sit right and seep. Either way you look at it it’s a gamble. You’ve done refreshed dang near everything so just do it!
I’ve never had good luck with tires from Walmart or Sams. It’s like they get the rejects or something. However I will say I put 68k miles on a set of General Grabber ATX’s and they were great! They are mushier and heavier but they handled well in all types of terrain and wore evenly. Wishing I...
I wash it a lot and park it in the garage. Seriously though I’m pretty thorough when it comes to cleaning my truck. I’m one of those that gets underneath it and cleans the frame and under belly. LOL!
Thank you for opening this thread back up so we can continue to show how great these trucks are (regardless of generation). The picture was from February but my mileage is just over 261k at the moment. It has given some of the best driving experiences of anything I’ve ever owned. Its bone stock...
I daily drive mine and usually average around 13 mpg. I recently went on a road trip and while in Wyoming in -8 degree weather I was averaging 10 mpg. Not sure if it was the cold or the elevation or both. But driving down to Colorado it jumped to almost 16! I have been using the Fuelly app for...
The first one I got off Amazon, but it didn’t last long. The last one I think I got off CarandTruckRemotes.com. The buttons graphics wore off quick but it’s still working.
That had a little bit of a bell **** to it. Just to be sure check your harmonic dampener on top of the left rear frame to make sure the bushings are still intact. If you hit it with your hand and it produces that **** sound that could be the problem. Most people just remove it when it’s bad. LOL...
Yes you can if you have the two original keys then you can do this. It’s two different procedures. One to program the chip in the key, and another procedure to program the buttons. It was easily found on Google and I have had to do it 3 times now since apparently I am hard on my key buttons...
I saw this in new posts, started reading and liking a few posts before I realized the post I liked was from 2014! Talk about a “bump” to an old thread.
I can’t say I’ve ever seen any high output turbocharged engine have any longevity, but with the new engine designs time will tell the tale. It always seems that to have HO on an engine, regardless of cylinder count, it shortens it’s life span, but that makes sense as it has more things that can...
Had a guy in a Tesla the other day at the light so I revved my engine, light turns green and boom he’s gone, I took off in a normal, not overly accelerated manner. I just like watching how quick they are, LOL.
If you had a 13 then going back to an 11 can be a bit annoying has it does have some little things that are different. I have a ‘12 but sometimes I wish it was a 13 or 14 like when I go to change the climate control or when I open the sun roof after it apparently rained an I stop at the end of...
It’s a tuff call. Part of me says ride it out, but like was stated you don’t want to be stranded at the worst possible time. But as old as our trucks have gotten it is bound to happen eventually. I know that my truck will do it some day, but I think I will be okay with it when it finally...
