I wish mine got a little hotter, but I suspect I have a high tolerance for heat and I'm not surprised that Ford would be hesitant about making the steering wheel too hot to touch.
I don't think there is anything special about the OEM model.
I just installed a Truck Covers USA American Roll Cover and am quite happy with it. It has a smaller container for the retracted cover than most other models, so you lose less bed space, and also comes with slots on the rails for a...
The springs are progressive, which means they are soft at first and stiffen up with more travel. So you could probably put another 400 pounds on it and it wouldn't change much in comparison to the effect of the first 400 pounds.
The tow rating is generally a set of defined criteria based on...
You can probably just pop the wiper off the post and reposition it. There are marks on the windshield that show where it should "rest", the tech was probably just sloppy.
Fox's shocks have nothing to do with sagging, it's the springs, not the shocks.
The Gen3 does feel like it has much softer springs than my Gen2 and seems to perform better off-road as a result. The Raptor is a desert racer, not a mini Super Duty, and maybe this difference became more...
On my truck, I've concluded that the clunk I was feeling is actually due to the suspension bushings and steering bushings being stiffer than in my Gen2, and the truck simply passing more vibration and feedback into the cabin. I think Ford softened the suspension and springs in the Gen3 but took...
That's ******** and I wouldn't cut Ford any slack here. As long as they're producing new trucks they have no excuse under the law or otherwise to not promptly provide replacement parts as well. If Fox had shut down production of shocks it would be a different story.
Incidentally the...
Wireless Carplay with my iPhone 13 and iOS 15 has been rock solid. Heck, it's quicker to connect and more reliable than the wired Carplay was in my Gen2.
I think we should kill the other topic-specific Gen3 forums for now. There aren't enough owners yet to fill them in with content. Let people post in here and then break out into subforums in another 6-12 months.
Anyone else notice that, when stopped in Drive, you can feel a slight shudder from the engine, mainly through the seat? It goes away if I shift to Park or Neutral, or increase RPMs even slightly with my left foot on the brake. Idle shows 500 - 600 RPM on the dash at this point.
It's not really...
I agree with everything you said. On the other hand - someone reported that Ford told them they have a defective shock eligible for warranty replacement but warranty replacements are not available from Fox until 2023. Until someone hears otherwise, that's the best information we have coming out...
Numerous posts about this in the Gen3 forums. There is a report that Fox is unable to supply warranty replacement units for the shocks until 2023. Be prepared to threaten Ford with a lemon law buyback.
I'm very happy with mine and haven't had any issues with Sync 4 being erratic as you described. There were some default settings that were silly - like the rear passenger alert - but as long as these are options that can be disabled, I don't see this as negative.
The suspension and powertrain...
Sounds like a lemon law situation to me.
The stated justification is also absurd. If Fox can provide shocks for new production, they can also provide shocks for warranty repairs. At the cost of reducing the new production rate, if necessary.
Very nice!
A number of people (including myself) have noticed a loose / clunking sensation from the front suspension over small bumps in the Gen3. It feels more like my old Wrangler than my 2019 Gen2. I suspect it may be a characteristic of the Gen3 design rather than a loose bolt or something...
I liked being able to hear the turbos in my Gen2, but I can't hear them at all in the Gen3. The exhaust is louder and that sounds good, but I need to hear the turbos doing their thing. What can I do about this?
I have been getting frustrated with the button on the external door handle that locks the truck as you walk away. It felt like no matter how hard I pushed on it, it was super difficult to get a button press to register. The button was very stiff, like there was some kind of clearance issue or...
Mine has a very loud rattle from the exhaust that doesn't go away and can be heard while driving. The dealer determined it was due to the valve and ordered a new one, it should arrive next week.
Anyone else experiencing a slightly rough idle when stopped with the transmission in Drive (e.g. at a traffic light)? Idles at 500 RPM and there is a slight shudder perceptible. Not terrible but noticeable.
I have this problem also. Low idle, around 500 RPM, and a slight shudder when stopped in Drive. Still on the first tank of gas but I noticed it right away.
It's the same feeling as in my old Tacoma with the A/C running at idle. Kind of annoying.
