Correct me if I am wrong but Raptor allocations do not correlate with Raptor sales, but they are based off of overall F150 sales. IE selling more Raptors does not get you more Raptors, just selling more trucks in general get you more Raptors. If this is correct (which I may be wrong) then by...
Yeah, looks like for normal driving the small MPG bump in no way can cover the 15-20% increase in fuel price from Reg to Premium gas. I wonder if the HO EB would have more improvements than the standard EB engine, I feel as though it most likely the results will be the same.
I wonder why would they sell the Raptor at 1k over invoice? I am truly happy for you to get such a good deal, I am just confused about why would the dealership offer this price. If other local dealers are still selling at any kind of ADM, or even at MSRP seems like 1K over invoice is just...
That is true, there is a trade off with anything. In my case my order was placed in early Oct and the truck is in transportation now, so i don't consider it that long to wait for what I want. I also did not have to put any deposit down on the truck. If I had to put 5k down and wait 6+ months...
I have to disagree with that statement. Here in Texas (Houston) MSRP is pretty damn good. All dealers are asking still 3-5k ADM on stock units. I had to order mine to get it at MSRP. Granted ordering it worked out pretty well since I did not want the stickers and I saved 2k ordering it...
I just sent a PM on the F150 board. I'm in Houston and once I get a price I will let everyone know.
Side question, right now I have a 2015 King Ranch w/ 5.5' bed. I assume that the bed cover for my 2015 would be the same cover for a Raptor. I do not have my Raptor yet as it should come...
I doubt that is the reason. Mine was ordered in Oct with BL and CF and was but 11-29. I’m guessing it may have more to do with the dealer having a clear allotment than anything else.
I made contact with my dealer on Oct 2. He did not have allocations at the time but put me on his list. Allocation came up on Oct 16th. I got the VIN# OCT26th. Truck was built 11-27. It was in IL on a train yesterday. Ford is saying its due at the dealer Dec10-14th. So should be right at...
I sent a PM. I agree it seems like a oddball price. Window sticker shows it was a special order truck. Built 11-7 so it’s not one that has been sitting on a lot for a while. Shows to be lead foot with 802a, carbon, tailgate step, and orange interior. No tech package.
The 2015 3.5EB F150 does 5.8 0-60 times (number may vary depending on who's timing it) so the Raptor is not really that much faster. I think people who notice it more are people going from the Gen 1 to the Gen 2 or maybe people who have a GM w/ the 5.3L (really any NA V8 supercrew truck). The...
Ask you dealer for your vin#. If he has the vin you can call ford performance can get a status update. If he does not have a vin then in all likely hold your dealer does not have allocation for another raptor at this time and your order has not started yet. I ordered mine in early oct and it...
I am not saying that a few deals do not exist, but you are one of what maybe two or three people on here who have found anything close to that price? It's awesome that you got that kind of deal, but 95% or buyers are paying MSRP or MSRP+.
Look I am not going to argue about this with you, but looking at the post on this site the VAST majority are having trouble finding a dealer who will sell at MSRP much less selling at invoice. I think there was one guy who said he got the truck $1k over invoice and one other guy who got $2k off...
For MSRP in Dallas your best bet may be Randell Reed Ford. It would have to be an end of the month type thing. Basically go in tomorrow ready to buy. Tell them you will buy it today at sticker and see what happens. If you play that card you have to be ready to buy. Planet Ford here in...
That would actually make a good bit of sense to appease a segment of the crowd. I'm guessing that dealers may have issues moving the standard 5.0 compared to the 3.5HO unless it was a buyer who specifically wanted to to add a blower to the 5.0. Maybe if they would make the 5.0 an order only...
FFS, basically no one is getting "invoice" deals. Putting that out on the forum is setting unrealistic expectations. The very few people who have gotten that kind of deal either had some relationship with the dealer (ie buys their company fleet vehicles from them etc) or was some crazy one...
I hate to say this, but what difference in the real world does it mean if a off-road geared truck does not have as good of a time 0-80 (but has a better 0-60) than a lighter truck that has street tires and weighs 400lbs less? The Gen 2 Raptor is way faster than the Gen 1 (that had the 6.2 V8)...
I would not worry about reliability on the 3.5. I think Ford has that engine down and I don't see it being significantly less reliable long term than the SD. Here is a quick pro/con list I made. I did own a 2014 Platinum SD (last gen).
Raptor
Pros:
Better Ride vs SD (SD is very stiff)...
Man what a starting point 15k over! Truth be told in Texas it is hard to get one off of a lot at MSRP. I've seen a few people get one in Midland, but Austin, Houston, Dallas dealers all seem to be selling theirs on the lot for some kind of ADM. I had to order mine to get it at MSRP.
I think that had more to do with the Raptor's bigger tires, less areo design etc than the engine. Here is a link to TFL where they raced a 2018 3.5 Lariat compared to a Raptor. The Raptor should have won based on the engine, but the Lariat won fairly easily with a less powerful engine...
That's one thing I find so crazy about people who go out of state to save 1k off of the price. I get it if you are saving 5k +/-, but man that is a lot of time and travel expense to save $1000.
I think if you are willing to order you may have pretty good luck getting one at MSRP. If you want one off of the lot then just go online and look up every dealer in your state that has a Raptor in stock. Just start blasting out emails and see if anyone will bite.
