Really I would not hate too much on Rams right now (I can’t believe I typed that). The new 2019s are pretty nice, especially when you get to the upper trim levels. The interior on their limited blows away the f150 limited interior. I’m not trying to compare a rebel to a raptor, but to say the...
At the rates you can finance for right now it’s almost foolish to pay cash (to some extent). If you think the market will be better than 2-3% over the next 3-5 years then you should finance your truck, strictly from a capital gains standpoint. I totally get it that some people don’t like...
Jaz,
I think you are very inaccurate in this post. First thing a similarly loaded Lariat is MSRP for $10k less than a Raptor, but no one (I mean no one) buys a Lariat at MSRP. The vast majority of Lariats are sold in the ball park of 10K off of MSRP, while the majority of Raptors (for right...
When you say break the tires loose, are you guys doing that in Sport mode with TC on or off? I am just wondering since I have never had mine spin best I can tell, but I alos don't think I've really pushed mine too hard yet.
I can understand where the OP is coming from somewhat. When you look at reviews on YouTube etc (lord knows I watched 100 of them) they always talk about how fast the truck is. IMO it sets an unrealistic expectation to a lot of people that the Raptor is a rocket ship. I think my truck is...
I would guess they sold very few F-150 SCABS with the sun roofs. And since the roof on the SCAB and SCREW are totally different parts, it must have made financial sense for Ford just to get rid of the sunroof parts on the SCABS. Either that, or they just wanted to make it a way for people who...
I vote beadlocks as well. My 2018 had the standard wheels and I found a take off pair of beadlocks and replaced the standard wheels. These Raptors just do not have any silver on the trucks at all, so the silver wheels to me look out of place. The black/grey wheels just fit the truck so much...
While it is not a sports car, I would by no means call the truck a complete dog (especially in sports mode). I would take it into the dealer and have them take a look. Could be some issue with the turbos maybe? I am not sure of any way for the truck to default to Sports mode, I think it will...
I don't see electric only, but I do see some hybrid option (like Ram's E-torque) when the wheels get that instant boost from an electric drive train at start up. I think everything else you saif sounds very accurate.
I know this sounds crazy, but once you start adding a lot of those things into a Raptor it get hard to build a 72k truck and still turn the profit you need to justify the lineup (beyond just a halo vehicle). Building a SC V8 would be tough unless Ford would share it with another product line...
A sports car the Raptor is not. I had a 2014 M6 with the TTV8 and that car was fast, like scare the crap out of me fast. My Raptor is not even in the same ball park as that car (nor should it be).
Lol, to anyone who thinks any stock truck V8 will out preform the HO EB 3.5. The V8 for sure will sound better, but it will not out preform it. And for people who say add a super charger to it, then compare a SC V8 to a tuned HO 3.5.
I will say it is about dead even in speed with my old 2015 King Ranch eco boost. Of course the Raptor is a good bit heavier than the King Ranch and a different purpose built vehicle.
It actually is a testament to the 3.5 EB engine in general. It just out performs any non moded V8 in any...
FWIW I find the BO system almost identical to the Sony system from my 2015 King Ranch. So much so that I do wonder if they have actually changed out the speakers, or if it's just the decals on the center.
There are settings in the Sync menu to adjust Bass and Subwoofer output. Just go there...
When you valet the car just leave the fob with the attendant. I know you cannot lock the door with the fob inside by pressing the button on the door handle, but I am not sure if you can lock it with a second key fob if one is inside.
What was the biggest reason you made the switch if you don't mind my asking? It looks like you went from a 801a? package to the full 802a package. What is a matter of getting more options, the fox shocks, or some other reason?
Beautiful truck. One really handy thing about the Raptor is that many of its components are the exact same as the regular F-150 that came out in 2015 that there has been plenty of time for Ford to work out kinks in the truck. Things like sun roof, Sync, etc are the same on mostly any F150 that...
So I’ve had my Raptor for a little over a week coming from a 2015 F-150 King Ranch. The truck is what I expected it to be so far. It’s fast, but nothing compared to the BMW M6 I’ve had in the past. And it’s nice inside, but I don’t think luxury when I get inside of it. I do think people tend...
I'm sure OP will get in the low 60's for his truck. Most used ones here in Houston with the same mileage list for about 64-65k. One has top remember that any of these forums are filled with people who do a ton more research (for better or worse) than 90% of the average buyer. Most Raptor...
It’s not a bad deal, but it’s not a steal also. I don’t know how hard a super cab is to find as that may change things. I just bought a 2108 super crew 802a for $7100 under MSRP, but part of that was due to a bad price the dealer put on their web site. At the end of the day if you are happy...
