I got the ngague yesterday and just uploaded and sent my stock file to MPT. I went with 93x, 91x, and 93x Tow. I did request smoother shifts in normal mode, and a more linear throttle response. I cant wait for it to come it.
I like my Raptor, but for some reason a lot of reviews say how fast the truck is like it is some kinda rocket ship. It's moderately fast for a truck, but no where near sports car level or for that matter no where near high end SUV level. My wife has a Supercharged Range Rover that will throw...
My Ngauge comes in tomorrow, so I thinking I'll have my tune ready hopefully by the end of the week. Once installed I will give some feedback on what I think.
I will ask them to program mine like they did yours. I want normal to shift similar to how it does now and not have the throttle crazy sensitive, but I want sport mode to be like Balco Barry Bonds.
How was your MPG with the tune (PR-x) compared to stock? Did it drop off much? I am getting 17.8 now on 93 octane so I am hoping that I don't lose too much. I just placed an order with MPT a few mins ago.
Is there any discount code from MPT by any chance? I see on the checkout page a spot for a code so I didn't know if there was some special for forum members or anything like that? Worth a shot to save a few dollars I guess.
I think I may just go with the MPT tune since I like the idea of the trans tuning coming with it. I would think the delta between the Cobb tune and the MPT tune engine wise is fairly small and either should be a significant step up from the stock tune. Should I go with the Ngauge device or the...
Guys,
I have a 2018 Raptor and I am looking at getting a tune for it. She is mostly a parking lot queen, but I really need to make those Starbucks runs a little faster. I have 93 Octane here in Houston so that is what I am interested in getting the tune based around. Does anyone have a...
The EB is the better engine hands down. Some people just want to find reasons while they prefer those V8. At this point it’s almost like politics, you will never get a liberal to like Trump or vice versa. Same way the V8 die hards won’t like the EB.
FWIW I would love a super charged V8 Raptor. That would be a game changer IMO. But I have no interest in a NA V8 for the Raptor since there is nothing out there that can our preform the HOEB unless it gets 12 MPG.
Of course if you take the turbos out of the HOEB it would put out less power, that maybe one of the dumbest things I’ve seen posted on here. And yes every generation Raptor will be more powerful, but more likely it will be via electric motors in combination with FI engines, not with large...
The HOEB out preforms the GM and Ram V8 engines in all things except sound. It’s really not that hard to understand. But whatever let’s put a less powerful engine in a Raptor because it sounds cool. Just like those four banger civics with loud mufflers on the streets.
By your logic since 0-60 times don’t matter then the overall HP and TQ of the engine don’t matter. They can put just the base 5.0L and be good, you know since power does not matter.
While the Ram limited has a very nice interior, the current Rebel trim is pretty lame (minus the huge screen). The red accents and tire tread imprints on the seats are super tacky IMO. I would hope they change that up in the TRX.
It makes sense IF you offer the V8 (FI) in the last year or two of the Raptors life. At that point you are trying to get 2017-2018ish buyers a reason to buy another Raptor. Those early adopters were mostly the ones that paid ADMs and would most likely be the ones who would get excited enough...
I personally would keep the 17, but I am a big fan of options. I have a feeling if you went to the 19 you will miss out on the 802a options and end up with a 892 ‘20 at some point.
The shifts are pushed out a lot and they are not smooth, but FWIW I find that to be true of most vehicles what have a sport mode. My M6 drove the same way (to the extant that an M6 can be like a Raptor) in sport mode as well, it held onto gears long and the shifts were not as smooth. I don't...
