I love my Raptor, but man things change with 93 octane and a MPT tune. This truck is a legit beast with that tune. No need at all for sport mode. Best $700 you can spend on a Raptor IMO.
I am happy to see that I am not the only dad here with multiple car seats in the back of their Raptor! I always get a chuckle when I am showing someone my truck and they comment on the car seats, lol.
But the Raptor (really any F-150 SCREW) is great for kids. Its super easy for them to get...
My understanding is that there is active noise canceling also going on in the truck and when you disable the engine sound the noise canceling is also disabled. Is this correct?
Before my MPT tune I was getting 17.9 in Houston. After the tune I'm down to 17.3. Mostly highway miles, but that means 60-65 in Houston. When I take longer trips on the highway at 70+MPH the fuel econ really starts to drop. Something about driving a huge brick down the interstate and physics.
I agree with the above, wait about 5k miles or so and make sure all is right on your truck. I think I had about 6k miles when I put my MPT tune on. I am very happy with it.
I looked at a Rebel and the AT4 before I bought my Raptor. I mean they are 10-15k cheaper so I felt like I really had to look at them and make a fair decision. The AT4 was basically a no go from the start. The interior in this "all new" truck looked very dated to me. Almost like a 10 year...
You never get a special rate on the Ford Performance vehicles , no matter how good your credit is. I think the lowest rate from Ford is that 5.99 rate. I went through my credit union and it was the lowest rate I could find. I think it was also 3.5
I have to agree with this. The more I drive my truck with the MPT tune the more I like it. It also seems like the shift logic has gotten smoother as I’ve driven it more. Noticeable increase in power, but with the linear throttle response the truck is not “twitchy”. Nothing I would change on...
FWIW I find it pretty remarkable how reliable the 3.5EB engines have been. When I bought my first EB F150 I was nervous about how hard they would be taxing a V6, but even with all of the complex parts that engines have been just as solid as any other V8 out there. I get your general point...
There is also MPG to consider in relation to CAFE, where I may be wrong but super duty trucks are excluded. A 7.3L NA gas engine is not going to be great there.
I would say highly unlikely. I just don't see Ford putting a NA V8 in the Raptor since at best it would be a fairly small performance improvement over the 3.5EB. If the Raptor was to get a V8 I really think the GT500 engine would be the one to put in it. 700+HP sells trucks much more than say...
I’m guessing the GT500 is not much of a concern to GM when pricing the Vette. They should sell ballpark 35k C8s a year or so compared to I’m guessing 5k GT500s
I think I get the general point the OP is trying to make. The C8 is a huge value when you compare it to a Porche, M6, etc car. 60k base and most likely a little under 70k with Z51 2LT will be amazing. The Raptor is an awesome truck, but the "value" is much harder to place since it is a...
I had a 2014 F-250 Platinum and they are totally different trucks than the Raptor. I work in downtown Houston and park in a parking garage so the F-250 was a pain because of the longer wheel base. Power wise it's funny because from a dead stop the Raptor is faster, but man when the turbos are...
I see the tremor being a response to the Power Wagon more than anything else. Also Ford saw how many guys are putting lifts and tires on F-250 and said "heck we can do that and make more money." In reading the info on the tremor there is much less involved in it than the Raptor. The tremor is...
It does always amaze me when I see Gen 1 guys say how the 6.2 is better becuase if you put a SC on it then it makes more power that the 3.5L EB. Well of course it does as it's a much bigger engine. I prefer to compare stock to stock since only a few people will buy these types of trucks and...
Over all after about a week I'm very happy with the MPT tune. It did really well on the 8 hours drive yesterday. Most notably when passing on the highway there is so much more power on tap then before when going say from 70-80ish to get ahead of someone on the highway. I did have one really...
Jeff,
No issues in going from 10th to 9th, but truth be told its hard to make it make that small drop. If you give it too much gas it wants to go to maybe 7th or 8th, it was hard to find just the amount of gas at cruising speed to make it go form 10th to 9th. I was able to make it work a few...
I did install my MPT tune (93x) Saturday and so far I have been very happy with it (although very limited driving time). The increase in power is very noticeable especially when I push the truck. I get more of the "snap your head back" feel than I did before when pushed in the Raptor. I am...
