After waiting over two months, I have finally received the mythical beast also known as "stock tune" from Whipple.
Reverted it to stock intake and tune to take it in a week from now to have the TCM/PCM strategy updated. Still having delayed/harsh shifts but they are much more apparent when...
Whipple is really easy to install. Unless you are going to have a shop install it that does them all the time, I'd say stay away from Wagner IC. Much more involved to install it and their instructions were lacking. I ended up returning it and buying the Whipple.
Two months later and I am still waiting for a stock tune. This is after I told them I am having erratic shifting with the transmission still and need to return it to stock to take it to the dealer.
My experience with Whipple customer service has been horrendous. I have contacted them numerous...
I hear ya OPT, I was just letting others know you HAVE to leave the seal out to fit the Whipple Megacooler (the Whipple instructions failed to mention this though).
New in box (only opened to make sure it wasn't damaged), never installed Bak Revolver X2 Tonneau Cover fits 2015-2018 Ford F-150 models with the 5.7' bed including Raptor.
$700 local pickup only. Located in Columbia, SC.
Installation of the Whipple intercooler doesn't require removal of front bumper or grille. You only need to remove the skid plate, which is 6 bolts. The Whipple website has the installation instructions, which are pretty straight forward. You will see in one of my previous posts a piece of...
I also requested the stock tune. Person I spoke to said they were backed up on stock tune requests and it takes them longer to get the stock tune due to their machine not being setup to generate them as opposed to the Whipple ones.
It isn't quite that simple with the Whipple tune. For one, you don't have a stock backup tune from the get-go and you have to request it (which I am hearing currently takes a while to get). And two, the Whipple tune and stock tune they provide have a limited number of flashes allowed before...
First off, I am doing this quick write-up to hopefully save others a bit of time if they experience what I did after they tune their truck. In my case, I had done FORScan modifications before I installed the Whipple tune. When I went to connect via FORScan to do a TCM reset, I received the...
Have about 1k miles now with the Whipple tune and I was trying to pinpoint when the shifts seem a bit abnormal. It seems to be when I am light on the throttle and it doesn't skip 4. When it goes from 3 to 4, it just seems really delayed and almost shudders. Anyone else experience this?
I think it would be be better based on some of the issues others have reported with stock plugs (stuttering), but I don't think it is as critical as if it were tuned.
I am using black 14x1.5 35mm lug nuts. You will be good with what RRW provided. I ended up ordering a set of 100 of them for a bit more elsewhere figuring I could sell 50 of them to someone else. So if anyone wants a set of 50 to have a whole extra set should they get boogered up, lemme know.
Anyone install these yet? If so, how was the install and did you do the SPD turbo adapters as well? I already did the SPD turbo adapters and am contemplating doing downpipes.
Here is the picture of the stock bracket that needs to be removed to fit the Whipple Mega Cooler. May seem obvious to some, but I was weary of removing it if it was supposed to serve as a seal around the front of the intercooler to ensure proper airflow.
Just want to echo what Guy said in another thread regarding some of the available aftermarket intercoolers and share my personal experience.
I originally bought the MPT tune and Wagner intercooler to put on my 2018 raptor, but after some hiccups with the MPT tune on the 2018s with ACC I was...
Installed my Whipple Stage I kit about a week ago. First thoughts are it definitely has more giddyup and the shifts are smoother, but the transmission still feels a bit clunky at times when accelerating slowly. I think it is when it skip shifts from 4-6 it is sometimes jerky/delayed...
From what I saw before, he was running MPT tune. They had some issues with adaptive cruise control and the tune throwing some 2018 Raptors into limp mode on hills I believe. Think I heard they resolved the issue, but I'd reach out to them for an update.
