I hear ya, I would have installed it sooner but I was dreading it after seeing the pictures of people hacking up their covers and still struggling to do the install. I'll report what it collects in a couple thousand miles.
Not really, I just rotated the fitting on the right to point towards the back and the one on the left to the front as in the pictures. Once I did that, I had to try a few different hose positions to get the cover to slide into place. What worked for me was focusing first on just getting the...
I bought the JLT catch can for my 2019 that I recently took delivery of before I read about the fitment issues. Anyways, attempted to install it today and was able to do it without modifying the engine cover and still able to get both sides to cinch down without any issues. The pictures below...
I am not sure what prevents them from doing that as you see it repeatedly done with Porsche and others that sell low volume models. Anyways, good info and I may followup with them down the road for a 2020 Raptor.
I am in Columbia, SC and I talked to them a couple of times over the past year or so. I was basically told they reserve the Raptor allocations for locals. YMMV
Sorry to hear about your trouble with your truck and the Whipple tune. Once I figured out that we weren't intended to ever be allowed to go back to stock after doing a Whipple tune (or any tune if Ford had their way) I ditched it. Thankfully I was able to get them to request a true stock file...
So, anyone install these yet that previously installed a pair on a 2017 or 2018? Same process or anything more difficult with the new shocks/sensor wires?
Based on that, do you think it would be beneficial to disable the AUTO START/STOP through something like FORScan? I did that on my 2018 because I don't care for it and will do it on my 2019 when I get it as well.
It's been mentioned before, but if your truck is on the rail car you can track it. Since I am east of the Mississippi, mine is coming via CSX. Once I tracked it via the VIN on https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking#/ and saw that it shipped, I called my dealership and asked for the rail...
If it were me, I'd go ahead and buy the $30 tool and download ForScan for free to code it out. There are a bunch of other neat changes to make with ForScan as well, such as the Lincoln mirrors and DRL.
Same. I just got that email about purchasing one of the trucks used in Raptor Assault... I actually laughed out loud. Maybe if they knocked another 10k off.
Have to defer to Mamula on this one...
To be truthful, I'd say either one depending on the deal. I only upgraded to the 2019 because I got a good trade-in offer and basically drove it for free for 9 months/16k miles. Scheduled to take delivery 12/28, but there are other minor changes there...
You bite your tongue! Mamula is a self-declared legend on this forum... and has provided much valuable insight into all things Raptor related (but has never owned one and hopefully will not)
Who knows what Raptors they are used to driving that they compared the new ones to. If it was the 2017-2018s at Raptor Assault, the suspension on those has been through many many cycles and felt very soft (compared to my 2018) when I was there.
Anyways, go buy a Raptor already so you can shut...
Background is I had a 2018 Raptor that I put the SPD turbo adapters on, which I paid ~ $120 for 9 months ago. Fastforward and I ordered a 2019 Raptor and planned on ordering a new set of SPD turbo adapters, but the price jumped to $190 for the Raptor ($140 for others).
Anyways, called one of...
Install video is alright I guess, other than it completely skips the most difficult part of the install (IMO), which is extracting the studs out of the turbo. Never heard of anyone getting lucky enough that they back the studs out at the same time as when they loosen the nuts.
I did the SPD...
To which they will say, "That is the thing that incremented your flash counter which we have no record of in the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System." For a catastrophic failure, I am sure other logs will also show them what they want in order to blanket deny your warranty (Ford, not dealer)...
Whipple worked with me to get back to "true" stock in an unconventional method. I don't know exactly what went on behind the scenes, but I know it was even more of a hassle for them than the normal Whipple "stock" file that people get when they request it. Whether or not I will be able to...
I believe you would have to get back to a stock tune first before going to another such as MPT, but even if you could go from "stock" Whipple tune to MPT you would still be locked out from getting updates from Ford if you did it this way. Otherwise if you are true stock and get MPT, you can...
I installed them myself and the truck had low miles when I did it. Without using a lift, I think the install took me about 2 hours. $350 for the kit seems pretty steep for the price already, so I am not surprised that they want to charge $400 for installation. IMO not worth paying someone...
